Best match of the tournament was Germany Vs Uruguay. That was truley boring to watch. Best bit was thingys flying karate kick into Alonsos chest. Bruce Lee would have been proud of that.

Agree. At the end of the reglamentary (the 90 minutes), holland had 6 yellow card and ALMOST THIRTY faults. In fact here the commentator denoted that the FIFA president had a disgust face when he gave the medal to the referee.

I wanted Holland to win, but to be fair they didn't deserve too. Far too many fouls and that kick to the chest could have killed that poor Spanish player. Spain were the better side today and the best team won.

If Holland had cleaned up their act, then they wouldn't have been down a man and could have held Spain to a draw and decided it on penalties. Which doesn't exactly make for a satisfying win, whoever wins really... :rolleyes:

In the end, every team I was interested in was knocked out, making this Final only half interesting, at best. The teams I was interested in were: Italy, England, Brazil & Argentina, Germany, USA & Portugal.

A Brazil - Argentina Final would have been awesome!

Wasn't happy with that match, especially when a Dutch player was fouled by two Spanish players after getting the ball past them, prior to Spain scoring a goal. Should have been a free kick.

Overall the match was terrible, every shot was wide and Spain couldn't stop kicking the bloody ball out.

Yes and every kick the Dutch took was at a spanish player, Im not saying the match sucked, Im saying that both teams had to halt each other on the midfield that made the game slow, but the dutch played a dirty game as I have never seen in a final match for the worldcup, overall the spanish team did play better as a sport and in sportsmanship, all sport broadcasters comment on how linient the referee was with the dutch, this game had terrible judging but in the end the best team did win, and wasnt decided by the referees performance.:D

I've got to defend the team a little bit, as they usually don't play dirty like this. As I said, it looked like they simply snapped under the pressure Spain applied in the first 15-20 minutes. That, combined with a yellow-happy referee and the tension of the final match seemed to be too much for the players to keep their cool and stay professional.

Don't get me wrong, there is no real excuse for this one foul match, but it's still one foul match. We're not like that in any other match.

I thought there should have been more red cards and Holland obviously had decided pre-game that they were going to play very, very rough, but yes, you are right, the Dutch do not normally play like that.

well, congrats Spain. Before the game I wanted holland to win, but in the end I was glad to see Spain win. Our orange neighbours didn't deserve to win such a foul orgy.

U say it's one foul... Well there were a few other fouls that were pretty nasty. And there should have been a penalty when Villa?! was fouled. And before the game Holland was the team with most fouls, so it's not just this game. They do play hard. It's not that I dislike it a bit rough but this was to much.
