Well ive a 9800se which obviously has a fan for cooling, now my question is does the fan suck cool air onto the card or blow hot air away?
i ask this as ive fitted a pci exhaust blower directly beneath the card this only gives a 2-4mm gap between the graphics card and the blower body.
so if the fan on the card is blowing out, the hot air will be sucked out straight away by the blower thus keeping it cool.
but if the fan is sucking cool air onto the card then im probably doing more harm than good as it will be taking any cool air and blowing it out leaving the card to get hot.
make sense?
any ideas appreciated

The fans blow air against the gpu to cool it. Turn the fan around and suck air into the case.

They arent reversible? Ive never used one, but i assume you could take the fan off the bracket and flip it.

beats me...but I was surprised there was an exhaust pci fan to begin with...
If it connects similarly as a normal pci card, then flipping it wud... nahh... i don't know... tommoturbo, any luck?

It doesnt actually plug into a PCI slot, but uses one of the case openings (from what ive seen)
So it seems liek you could take the fan off the mounting metal bracket that attaches to the case, flip it and put it back on the mounting bracket.

i havnt had chance yet to try and turn the fan over on the exhaust blower. but you do get a really good draft blown out the back of the pc so they do work. just worried that as its so big and so close to the graphics card it might be restricting any cool air from geting to the card. had an idea though.
thought about trying to fit the exhaust fan out the back of the pci slot so it blows cool air into the case right under the card, ill have to mod the bracket a bit but if the wifi antenna dosnt got that hight it could be a goer!
cheers ian
