X1900XT on DFI CFX3200

Has anyone tried ATI tool 0.25 beta 14 on an X1900XT installed on an DFI CFX3200?

It seems to perform fine on setting the core clock, and "Find Max" also works for the core clock (I got about a 16% stable overclock on my core :) ), but I cannot set the RAM clock without ATITool crashing. I can move the slider, but the moment I press "Set", it crashes. This is not due to overclocking as I can even move the slider down, and it still crashes when I hit Set.

I have not tried an earlier version than the latest beta based on the release notes stating that it fixed some X1900 issues. My X1900 is MSI but I think that makes little difference as they all use the ATI reference design, and I have the latest drivers off the ATI site installed. I am running Windows XP SP2, with latest pathces, and DirectX 9.0c. If any other system specs are relevant please let me know and I will supply them

Apart from this memory clock issue the card works fine, and as I mentioned even Core overclocking in ATI tool has no problems.

Any ideas / similar experiences?

I've got a X1900XT and a DFI CFX3200 DR and ATITool won't even work.

I believe that the atitool is not compatible with the chipset RD580 or the CFX-3200 board, when I change way 2D/3D the system freezes and I have to restart.

The problem seems to be that when the frequencies change the system freezes :confused:

any soloution?

Some program that allows to change voltages as the atitool and that works?

This works now!!! I have made 2 changes:
1) Update from Cat 6.5 to Cat 6.6 (latest which has since become available)
2) Changed ATI tool option to adjust frequency immediately when moving the slider

I would guess that (1) is the real fix (I was just too lazy to risk another reboot to rule out (2)), seeing as many others reported problems with ATI tool and Cat 6.3+. Looks like things are getting better with Cat 6.6.

Anyhow, thanks for the feedback from the contributors, hope this helps others as well, and a big thank you to the author(s) of ATI tool, it rocks!!! (p.s. good luck with the thesis)
