So right now I have about 450-500 dollars to build a gaming computer, I already have a monitor, mouse, and keyboard. This is my first time building a computer, so I dont know very much about whats good and whats not, but I figure I cant trust you guys. I decided to look on craigslist to see if I could get any good deals, and I found one that LOOKS fairly enticing to the untrained eye I guess you could say. Is this rig worth the 400 dollars its going for?

Intel Dual processor 3.9 Ghz - faster than most quads - What model CPU?
Gigabte motherboard - Which one?
4 GB DDR3 Memory Doesn't say much
Nvidia GTS 8800 video card Somewhat older card for this all being less than 6 months old.
1 Terabyte hard drive
Light Scribe DVD Burner
22" Wide screen Viewsonic monitor - You don't need it as you have one.
Keyboard and mouse
Less than 6 months old - I don't believe it, though I need to know what parts are being used exactly.

There's also no mention of Power Supply used. I simply wouldn't buy this based off of the information given, but it could be worth $300 - $400 dollar range.

One word, FAIL, must have overclocked it hard to get 3.9Ghz.

Slightly offtopic - why do I feel that http://forums.ageofconan.com/showthread.php?t=63390 could be the same computer?

If that is the source then, ask him what the name of all the parts, and what the clock speeds and the CL are on the RAM. How many RPM and how much chache does the hard drive have.

The powersuply is very inportant, if you ever going to upgrade, so ask about that.

There are alot of dual cores and gigabyte motherboards on the market... find out what they are called.

I personally don't think the guy who sells this is very experienced in computers... So if he can't tell what the thinks above are, then forget about it and try to find something else.
