Hi all new user here considering a new system build up here between the e6550 and 6750. understood that there is a price difference between both cpu.

Firstly i don OC just want to have a nice c2d with Gig P35-DS3 board.

Secondly for the Ram issue do i take 667mhz or 800mhz ddr2s and how many ghzs Adata or kingston better?

If i take e6550 i will have more $ to up the rams which the end will match up e6750s speed??

Will be using the coms to play games, office docs.

puzzled here.. Can u guys help me... thanks :banghead:

More information is still needed.
What are you MAINLY going to use the computer for.
Also there is no such thing as ghz ram, you must mean gigs.

A budget is also needed.

As for what I can tell you, the E6550 and E6750 is not out yet.
Both of these CPUs will prob. be hard to find until near the end of August since they will be new and a limited supply of them.
I dont remember the exact price for these, but I do kno that the E6850 is going to be priced at about $266 as so will the Q6600.

The E6550 will be cheaper than the E6750.
The E6550 will also be slightly slower than the E6750, but I would suggest getting the best you can get.

As for RAM, you would want to get either DDR2-800 or DDR2-1066 RAM.
You will want a 2 x 1GB kit.
Look for brands such as Buffalo, Crucial, Corsair, and G Skill (these are good brands).

Also, what else do you need since there is the CPU, RAM and Mobo?
Do you need a power supply, case, graphics card, etc?

More details. What kind of games, would you like it to play next gen dx 10 games. Ram- I'd recommend at least ddr2 800 (2gb). What kind of GPU were you looking at. What parts of your computer do you already have? Do you want to run sli or xfire eventually? Since you're not going to Oc I agree with bruins, get the best you can right now.

800 mhz ram is better. What are you going to do about the case, psu, monitor, os, and once again, do you want to run sli or xfire. BTW if you don't want to oc, don't buy a p35 based mobo, get something cheaper, 965p, or 650i will do just as well at stock speeds.

If your not going to OC and the price difference is big than 667 RAM is fine.
800 RAM is used mainly for OCing.

As for your video card, try to get the 8800GTS 320mb version.
It will blow that 8600GT away.

Also, I agree if you can get a cheaper mobo than do that since your not going to OC.
After that just get the E6550 or E6750 (whichever fits into your budget).

Ehh some not all. You can just bump up the fsb in the bios, all 650i and 965p can hit 333 mhz fsb (unless it's a pos).

Look at newegg and under the mobo it'll tell you what fsb it can run at.
