The X850XT has a lot more horsepower than you think, it gets 7K in 3Dmark05 EASILY on STOCK. With the VF-900 I stuck on it, you can get the clocks to 610/610 stable for uber-1337 near-silent pwnage. You can play such great, modern games as Half Life 2, UT2004, Counter Strike, BF2142, and Call of Duty 2 at respectable resolutions (settings medium/high) with no worries as to stability or framerates. This card has served me quite well, and I hope it serves you well.

I have to disagree with you there. I may not have the benchmarks to back me up, but...you will drool the next time you play Half Life 2 with 2xAA/8xAF at 1440x900 ;).

And besides. The money goes to a good cause (check my sig) :D.

Zek i sort of agree with ya and sorta disagree. The 850 is cleaner and less squared off in rendering than the 7600GT. Being an owner of both 850XT modded to PE and volted, I can still turn better benchies with the 7600GT(even B4 the mod).

So yes the 850XT is cleaner in picture and is a great card ,while the 7600GT has raw horsepower, and isnt as clean as the 850 in games.
As for the res...not to sure never had a widescreen to test em.


BUT an excellent deal for $90....Id still have a tough time gettin rid of mine...lol

Yeah I agree with sneekypeet, if I did decide to part with my x850, I would have a tough time letting it go for $90, and that's not a major loss for me on that deal (Mines a modded Pro from an ATI Clearance sale a year ago). x850 is a great deal though dude, it has a little less performance than your GT, but the image quality is good stuff. Sure it's only a SM2.0 card, but really how many games have even fully utilized SM3.0? Sure they're getting more frequent, but in your price range, a SM3.0 card may not be fun with eyecandy and higher resolutions.

Plus like Zek said, they OC very well! If you want a great card, granted a little older now, but for a good deal, a solid performer for the price, get that card! An x1950pro is almost twice the performance of an x850 (I should know :D), but it's almost twice the price. Though, prices are dropping, if you got a 1950gt for cheap, it still is a healthy margin out of your budget. Really dude, think about this deal. Even if it's a "for now" thing so you can save money and maybe get a better card later during another price drop or better competetive card in mid-range (I hope the 2900pro will be! Looking forward to it!). I also must state my x850xt pe (modded pro) is AGP on a P5 socket 775 system, DDR 400, system OC'd, and it did well in games, I don't quite remember 3dmark scores, but in the end who really cares if games run well and look good?

Just think about it, that's a good deal on a great card for it's day and still a good card! If you need a card now, I recommend it! If not, then save your suckles and step up to a 1950gt or something in that price range. :toast:

To be honest I didn't want to say it because I've talked to zek outside of TPU before his banning and he is a good guy...I would trust him more than any ebayer.

I would trust someone on ebay with 100+ ratings and 100% more than anyone here, they would kill to keep that rating. You just have to work out a deal with them.

Haha people on ebay would not "kill" to keep their rating...I've dealt with about 10 people on forums and 5 on ebay and I've had more problems on ebay...thats just statistics...all the people I bought from on ebay had 100% ratings, but not anymore.
