Zalman ZM80D-HP

I just installed my Zalman ZM80D-HP vga heatpipe cooler today. This thing is a beast :D . Installation is not for the weak of heart or the large of hands ;) (although the instruction manual is fantastic). I was able to get 473/382 on my 9800Pro->XT, which is a small improvement over the ~470/380 I was getting with an Arctic cooling VGA Silencer rev. 3 and OCZ BGA copper RAMsinks (which I'm now looking to sell). The card runs and looks cooler. The quality and construction of the components leaves nothing to be desired. I can't hear the (optional) OP-1 fan over my case fans, either. All in all I am thouroughly satisfied with the ZM80D-HP, feeling that I have reached the limit of air-cooled performance.

What would be better, that zalman heatpipe with no fan, or an icerberg 4?

The Iceberq4 might keep your core a little cooler. Without the fan, the Zalman performs just as well as stock cooling. It's so massive that it needs a dedicated fan to keep it cool.

So, which is better, Zalman ZM-80D or Vantec Iceberq 4 for price vs performance.

The Zalman is cheaper at frys electronics. ($10) The Iceberq 4 was 16.99 at Frys.

Tell me: How u got 470? WIth ati silencer? I cannot get more than 412 because i get artefacts.

My 9800 Pro came with a R360 core - the same chip used to power the 9800XT. Since this core is made to run at 412/365, I have a bit more headroom when overclocking than using the R350 core -the "true" 9800 Pro core which runs at 380/340. I suspect that you have the R350 core.
