Well-known motherboard manufacturer Gigabyte looks set to diversify into the high end PC accessories market later this month, starting with the introduction of its new GK-K800 keyboard. The company will be targeting its products at gamers, and the initial focus will be on strengthening brand awareness. The GK-K8000 should be priced at around $113, and is likely to compete with similar offerings from companies such as Razer and Logitech.

The keyboard looks like something from the Commodore days. Good brand, OK keyboard, atrocious pricing.

LOL £55 for that POS! A saitek eclipse II is only ~£30 and it looks 1,000,000 times better than that 80's throwback!

So, if I got a cheap-o Dell keyboard. And modded it to look like that, I'd what? spend maybe 50ish dollars? Still cheaper then the price tag of that! You can get a good keyboard and mouse for that price!

They forgot to add LED backlight to compete with the others in this range! Just looks cheap with the orange buttons.

I wonder how much it costs them to make one, and the % of profit they make off each one.

They probably get a 60+% on this thing! It looks to cheap to be under 40%... IMO

For that price it better have clicky-keys (http://www.clickykeyboards.com/).

Wow, orange buttons are expensive...
:p
They should at least make something up like "super low latency"...
Also, this one is meant to "strengthen brand awareness"...
True, I am "aware" this is a rip-off!

In all likelihood, it could be a prototype and not a finished product.

i would much rather not pay that much for orange keys, now if it was lets say $25 thats a different story

I'd even think twice about $25. It resembles my old Dell keyboard with the exception of the orange keys. I'll stick with my Eclipse II.

Let us hope they will do a change of style on the kb. Black and orange is a halloween deal and something Im not into. Id like black and blue or black and red or something. Not to mention, its all squarish. This is the 21st century folks, lets see some curve and style. And for $113 it better ____ and ____ ME for that!! ::haha:: (feel free to fill it in with your own choice of words). Id like to grab a Logitech G13 (or whatever it is without the LCD) instead.

wow that things ugly and expensive, perhaps they though they were making too much money on mobo's and thought "hey I've got an idea that'll throw away a ton of money"

I think that this year gigabyte will be more brilliant like never before
DQ6 series of main boards are very good, the case series are rising, video cards are accessible to masses, the ODIN series from the power source are great, in the cooling domain have same idea, remains mouse and keyboards, memory module and LCD :)
also have a product that I only read about it, this was I-Ram

but this I believe has the technologies that start the production of SSD

Damn you people are judgemental. At least have a look at the specs first.

Sure, it's not that pretty looking and no, sadly it's not a prototype, but it has some rather ott features.
Hopefully version 2.0 will have a nicer design though.
