my soundblaster live 24bit does the job personally i dont see the need for x-fi's and whatnot, unless ur an audiophile

I don't know if you can handle eBay, but you can find plenty of deals on SB cards on ebay. I got my Sound Blaster Audigy plus the breakout box that goes into the 5.25" drive bay for $19.50 to my door. Can't beat that deal.

Also, Creative themselves have a outlet/overstock/refurb store on eBay. Purchases go through eBay, but items are shipped directly from Creative. Great deals.
