I think the sapphire one's still do. They also use a XT board so you can easly flash it to an XT. And maybe after that you can do some voltmodding stuff to fuck that one up too :D

I saw new MSI cloked to 450 with r360 core. All newer msi have r360 core.

Basically all new 9800 pro have R360 core. Me and my friend both just got a BB ATI 9800 pro 128 and they both have R360 core. Hynix memory thought.

the MSI are a safe bet, and they have large stock fansinks also.

I just bought another Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro Atlantis 128MB from Newegg and it's the 3rd one (out of 3) that I've gotten with an R360 core. This one hits 446/370 with a Zalman ZM80D-HP when flashed to XT.

Yes, you're right, but unfortunately, MSI cards have low quality capacitors and you need a special bios for it (medion or something like that).
IMHO, you should go for the reference 9800Pro, it seems all new 128 MBs Pros now ship with R360 cores. :)

Hello i have an oportunity to give back (sell my 9800se)
and most likely buy 9800pro.

My current 9800se is sapphire 256bit 8 pipes working fine
Max oc speed 420/324(3.3ns mem)

The 9800pro sapphires that i saw around forums would be my choice...
Last series has XT PCB and r360 core. (2.8ns mem)

Whole thing would cost me about 80euro.

Just wondering what do you guys think ? Is it worth that 80e ?
Or maybe just change this 3.3ns shit SE for some Pcolor SE with 2.8ns ?

How do i tell from PRO PCB and XT PCB ?
Maybe somebody can post some pics :S

not worth the 80 € in my opinion .. the 9800 pro @ xt pcb would oc to maybe 440/380 .. not worth the few fps .. better way to spend the money: go out, get drunk and get laid :)

for pictures of the xt pcb go to the "does my ati card support temp monitoring" article .. everything that looks different and has a 5.25" power connector is a 9800 pcb

Power color 9800se then ?
at least i get normal memory clocks...
The one i got sucks donkey ballz with that 3.3ns mem...
That would cost like... nothing 10e or something

cheers for all the replies guys, was thinking along the lines of a saphire but if anyone has got one sale (caleb??) that'd save me a few bucks pm me.

@ caleb, nah not worth it, you'll get a slight performance gain but not much.
@wazzledoozle, heatsink on them isn't an isuue cuz it'd be watercooled.
@ slayer, i can't afford to blow anymore cards right now so i might have to hold back on the extreme overclocking for a bit.

IMO there's no point in selling your old SE to get another SE

@ Fr33ze damn your not going to do the hardcore oc'ing damn damn damn. I was lookin forward to it :D

@W1zzard dude how do u do that get laid and drunk with only 80€. If your not that good lookin the 80€ won't be enough. If you are then that should not be the prob and actually you can get pretty drunk with 80€. I would like to go out with you sometime then and see who is the first one to run out of money :D
(but let's not take 80€ but 100€ LOL :) )

that crap memory clock is annoying me its not gonna cost much cuz im selling this one at shop price :) so there just might be a small diffrence in saphhire SE with 3.3 ns mem and PowerColor 2.8ns.
10e aint that much for such an upgrade i know memory gives a lot :S
That 3.3 can only do a poor 324mhz :(

@ slayerstaps - sorry bro but no silly overclocking for a while (might play a bit with a 9600) unless i can get an rma on my old 9800se.

@slayerstaps & w1zzard, hey if i was i germany i'd come out drinking with both of ya, if your ever in the uk gimme a shout, 80€ goes quite a long way in my town.

wierd... my Sapphire 9800SE with Samsung 3.3 mem goes easyly to 340. Haven't tried anything higher yet :)

^^ overclocking is purely luck of the draw although 3.3ns ram should be able to run higher than 324mhz.

Just out of curiosity, what BIOS did u use to flash to the XT?

Bought my ATi branded 128 MB 9800 Pro a few months back. It has a R360 core and I'll be flashing it to an XT soon. :)
