Hello again my friendly TPU techies! i have a question about a laptop of mine, specificly a fairly competant Dell E1705.

I have a decent setup with a C2D t7400 @ 2.16Ghz, 2Gb of 533 DDR2 ram, and a 100GB HDD. the computer has worked flawlessly for years now, when i am in windows or other non 3d apps. However whenever i load a game or anyother app that uses my video card more a tiny bit i get the the dreaded NV.dll BSOD. i heard this is a problem with many of these notebooks and that it usually means a dead video card. i have the geforce go 7900GS with 256-mb or ram.

My question/plea to you all is: if you know if a place where i can get some info on how to upgrade my system(i.e changing the GFX card) and what kind of upgrades i can even get for this system. i have heard that even though dell says the maximum amount of memory is 2GB you can actually put 4GB in this computer. oh and i usinf windows XP pro SP2

Again, any insight into my BSOD or any info on how to take apart an E1705 would be helpful. i have found a few places that have somewhat shoddy guid on how to do it, but i dont want to ruin my nice laptop with poorly written instructions on a shady website. as alwasy you TPU guys are the first to come to my aid! HELP! :toast:
