How durable are external HDD's? I might get one so I can bring to school cause I am in an advanced multimedia class where I have huge projects and tons of extra footage etc.. I was thinking of getting a ex. HDD or a big USB drive.

Are they not the same ?.. Just be careful with it and not throw it around lol. Might be a good idea to get one with some sort of cooling even if it's only a 1 or 2 40mm fans.

I can never allow myself to buy a jump drive bigger than 8gigs, I would be to upset if i lost it...but if you just using it for projects and stuff they you can keep copies of on your computer than it would be allot more convenient than carrying around that big exhdd.
edit: wow thats a good deal for that jump drive.

I've had more external hard drives fail than both internal hard drives or flash drives. If you do get an external, make sure it is actively cooled.
