Will aftermarket HSS on 4870??

since I will be unplugging the fan and using the S1 rev2 hs plus the dual fans that you can add on what about the fan control and all that will this mess up the card since it won't be able to detect the fan?? of do I cut the plug & put it on the dual fans anf plug them into the outlet?? will this work or do I not use fan control anymore and this won't affect the bios?? I am posting in this forum because I am going to use RBE to modd bios and was wondering about fan settings since I am using the aftermarket hs & fans.. Also the 4870 will need atihotkeypoller for sure so if I mod bios to oc while in 3D and go back to normal in 2D atihotkeypoller is what tells the card to change settings right?? Please help my card will be here tomorrow and I don't know what to do. I thiught the hotkeypoller was an important part of clock switching unless I am using att or ati tool.

I'm using the S1 perfectly fine. It doesn't mess up the card at all, depending on the program the fan speed is either read as 0rpm or 1rpm, but never causes a problem.

Just plug the fans into a motherboard 3-pin and you're set :)

so you plug them into a mobo 3 pin and let the mobo control the speed?? or plug them into psu for 100% spin all the time??

ALSO HAVE YOU TRIED USING THE SAME PLUG FROM THE STOCK (sorry for the caps) fan and cutting the plug from the duals and replacing it on the dual fans and plugging it into the fan port on the card?? I wonder if this will work?? so the card can control the dual fans??

Whichever works best for you. They're silent at 100% anyway.

My 4870 idles at 44'C and never break 65'C. Can't complain at that really can you? ;)

What are your other thermals... if you don't mind telling... specially the VRM (Voltage Regulator) temps...

I have a Force3D 4870 with DHT Freezer cooler, which keeps the chip cool at 50C and under load around 65C but has no heatsink on the Ram or the VRM... So under load, the VRM temps go up to 115C (100% GPU Usage over time, unsing ATI Tool). During Gaming, as I have an old CPU, the GPU is never 100% under load so at max the VRM goes to 99C or under.

And anyone know what are the VRM temps for stock 4870 cards.

Ah, well it idles at 60'C VRM, and hits 75-80'C under load.
