The 360 controller works perfectly in Vista x64. He's referring to his Xbox1 controller, if I'm not mistaken.

From what I could find, it seems a few people found this helpful (not sure if it works or not) http://www.planetamd64.com/index.php?showtopic=32285
And I also found this one too http://redcl0ud.1.forumer.com/index.php?showtopic=1816
However, I am not entirely sure if these will help you or not; but they seemed to have helped others.

360 controllers work fine on x64 ultimate ,driver disk can be easily found on MS's website.
i love mine, best pad ive used on the PC tbh.
altho i didn't have much luck finding a driver for an original xbox controller.

I had a modded Xbox Controller as well b4 i swapped to vista 64bit. i went thro hell because of all the drivers being unsigned.
To make it short i got a chillstream and its fine and cheap to get...$16 IIRC. But if you have a CD video game exchange type of store local, you may get a good deal on a used 360 controller.

Have you tried XBCD? I see they have some 64-bit drivers and there is one posted for Vista. http://redcl0ud.1.forumer.com/index.php?showtopic=1535

Yes and it isnt digitally signed, says the driver installs but wont allow any function!
