WOW, this is so amazing. This is more than what Crysis made in 6 months ?

Developers take note, this is what happens when you spend more time developing the game, instead of all those cheap anti-piracy measures.

Bethesda announced that its hit title, Fallout 3 has enjoyed record sales at launch, reflecting the huge consumer demand for the game. Approximately 4.7 million units of Fallout 3 were shipped worldwide last week for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Games for Windows representing retail sales in excess of $300 million.

Well as long as it don't screw my computer up which it has not i don't care. All so a reason why i get my games though D2D extreamly low chance of a DVD error

GoodWith those kinda numbers a FO4 will be ont he way. A VERY well earned 4.7 mill.

Valid points, forgot about consoles for crysis. But i don't think it has the "You can only install 5 times" thing, coz I havent heard about it.

Actually, Fallout 3 only has the same "protection" as Oblivion, being a simple disc-check. That's a far cry from the draconian, big brother, limited # of install crap we've been seeing from a lot of other companies.
Also, and I'm not sure of this, going by the time it took crysis to reach 1 million copies sold, I really doubt it has anywhere near 5 million copies by now and it probably never will. The fact that Crytek went all whiny-12-yr-old-who-didn't-get-the-pony-she-wanted on us and dropped support for Crysis makes me think it's anything but a box office hit.

EA is definitely the largest offender on that one. I'm happy though because it is realatively easy to spoof and/or remove. EA has a cult-following of haters. XD

Have never played any of the fallout series.. May have to give it a go....

And about that 5 install crap with warhead.. I installed it twice and now it has locked me out saying I need to purchase another key.... ssshhhhaaatttt..

yea crysis warhead sucks at the installs, i had a problem where i couldnt click any buttons on the main menu and my coursor stayed in the game when i played and would go FULLSCREEN! so i just uninstalled and reinstalled about 10 times

That is the ONLY reason it has sold so many copies. If it were PC only, it would be worse than Crysis.

Crysis might not have sold more, but the series itself is 'worth' more to the gaming community for multiple reasons, than Fallout 3 ever will be.

F3 will come and go, but Crysis will still be played and used as an expectant benchmark for quite a long while.

something just came to mind. If you have 5 installs, and uninstalling restores one... what happens if you ghost the machine, uninstall... then restore the machine? do you get infinite installs??

it's hella good, having just done the supermarket quest myself (not far in at all lol)
but it's just everything I hoped it would be, I love TES3+4 and this makes the Oblivion engine shine also
