Sodimm Dimms?

Anyone heard of SODIMM DIMM's? They are normal 240-pin DDR2 DIMMS yet are half the size (height wise, not length) of normal RAM sticks.

I never heard of them till two days ago when I picked up some Kingston RAM from the local IT shop and it was tiny lol.

Will post pics if everyone is like :wtf:

Yep its laptop memory, I've got some lying around. I wonder why they don't use them on desktops.

I know SO-DIMM is laptop RAM, which is 200-pin (not 240) and smaller (length wise) to a normal DIMM.

After googling VLP RAM, that seems to be it. I only got so-dimm from whats on the manual (look at attached pic)

Note: The corsair stick is a normal 240-pin DDR2 DIMM.

All Kingston manuals are the same. The | basically means it's for SO-DIMMs and DIMMs, their printer was out of slashes. VLP-DIMMs obviously are no different from normal DIMMs. In fact, the installation isntructions for any type of DIMM are the same (SDR, DDR, DDR2, FB, DDR3, ECC, REG, whatever, even RIMMs) They have better things to do than write new manuals for every new type of module, even though everything works the same.
