I've decided to upgrade to two GTX260 running in sli and i'm currently using an antec neohe 550 watt to power my system and that would obviously be not enough. I've been looking around and haven't seen much 850 watt PSUs although there seems to be plenty of 1Kw PSUs around but i think that would be overkill but it might be a good investment for the future. I've looked at the enermax galazy DXX 850 watt but thats a bit old but seems to have good reviews also theres the thermaltake TP850 watt other than that i'm short on choices. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

While an antec 550W may not be enough, that doesnt mean a better/stronger PSU wouldnt be enough at 550W.

I'd suggest looking at the corsair 750W model, it will definately power your PC - my PC in specs doestnt even use 350W, and while it doesnt have two GTS 260's, it certainly isnt 'weak' on power consumption either (6GB ram, OC'd quad core)

I would go for the corsair 750 watt or the PC&C 750 watt. They are both pretty solid.

A 750W would do it if it's a good quality unit. I wouldn't think twice about running those on my Toughpower 750W. As said, Corsair, PC power and cooling, or FSP are great brands.

Watch out for ABS/Tagan - with the very pretty colored, patented, modular plugs - although they are an eye-candy dream, some people are having high pitched whines issuing from them under high end vidcard stress.

I almost dove in too soon, myself. They look great.

I bought a Tagan 900W BZ MODULAR 80% ENERGY EFFICIENT mfr#:TG900-BZ, cost me £122 inc p & p, expensive but stable.. here's a review, they seem to have issues with cable length but it wasn't a problem I had.

There are better review out there, this is just an example.

EDIT... Siliconslick.. fair enough, I like to know other's experiences to base my opinions on.. but I haven't had any noise issues (yet?) and it's quiet as a mouse.

Oh good glad to hear it - because I'm still wanting to get the 700 or 800 ( she's telling me to buy it if you can believe that :) )

I saw the info on some review site comments or something then went to the abs/tagan forums and saw quite a few more - and saw a few youtube videos on it.

Obviously not everyone has the problem - it just kind of scared me off.

So glad to hear you aren't having issues - but come to think of it I didn't see it under the 900 - and according to the reviews that is a better make concering the components I believe.
