I've heard that Auzentech Preludes are the way to go for sound...

As for the rest...Asylums picks look pretty good.

I've also heard to eek out another fps or two and to have really good sound quality to use the Creative X-Fi Fatality...but I've heard that the Auzentech (with respect to sound) is the apex predator...

You can’t tri channel unless you have 6 dimm slots.

I'm not sure about the sound card, but in these days, I really don't see why you would need to have 2 optical drives, that is unless you copy dvd' or cd's a lot. The computer before the one that I am using now had 2 optical drives and then I moved to a machine with one, I can't say that I miss having 2 except for the few times the I need to do a disk to disk transfer. But that is not that often, for me at least. I think the the number of optical drives is a determined by the person using the computer.

@ thurn: It depends on if you are an audiophile or not. If you love crisp clear sounds. If music is your life. Then you need a good dedicated sound card. If you can't tell the difference between an MP3 and a wav file, then just use the on-board sound card. Now if you like to game. Then get a cheap-o card so that your CPU doesn't have to do the sound work.

@ smalls: I would have to agree. 2 or more optical drives are nice to have, but if you don't copy DVDs or CDs extensively they really aren't worth it.

yeh i see what you mean Franklinwallbrown, in that case, as i like my music and im a gamer, i will get a dedicated sound card. i think i will get the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium.

I will probably keep to one optical drive, as i have 2 atm and personally i dont really need the second one.

okay, well im using logitech X-210, which have 25 watt rms power. They are not the best speakers as ive had them for a while now and they were cheap. Should i keep them or is it worth changing them?
