no driver for hd 3870 x2 card

hi i need some help over here, my old driver is 8.11 when i try to install 8.12 that i get a error that says no driver found or installed

i contacted amd for this problem and the tell me i need to remove all drivers than reboot than reinstall but that will not help at all

thank god i did buy 2 new HD 4870 X2 cards that i get next week

Did you try rebooting? Also, it looks like you have a lot of programs running. Make sure there are as few programs running as possible while installing drivers.

first of all its not off topic, second of all i need all my icons because i use all my programs, and yes i did reboot my pc and i tryed to install with all running prg´s off and still no work

man , like i said it installs the 8.12 driver fine but when i reboot than it says no driver installed i know there is nothing wrong with the card i tested it on a other pc and there it works fine

forgive me for asking this as it is a bit stupid: you sure you're installing an x64 driver? forcing a 32 bit might be causing this odd issue.

This is a common problem with the new 8.12's [i have it too :mad:

], go check out the AMD game forums, I think someone found a work around on this.

-This one may work, but I havent tried it yet.

Uninstall the drivers, reboot into safe mode, run driversweeper to get rid of all the traces of ATi's drivers, boot regularly, install drivers.

I have the same issues with 8.12 drivers when trying to install on Vista x64. I went back to 8.11.

If you read the last page here, http://forums.amd.com/game/messageview.cfm?catid=279&threadid=104532&enterthread=y, it looks like system with more than 4Gbs of ram have issues.

NOOOO
Go back to 8.11s.
ATI is working on a hotfix. 8.12 disabled Crossfire on the HD3/4 series for SOME system setups.
Check ATI Forums, you will see.

What make are your cards ?

Try this driver, it worked for a couple of other ppl for some reason...with 3870x2 cards

Been working with the ATI driver team in regards to this issue, latest statement is

"We have been able to reproduce this issue with the Code 43 in house here. We will be posting a KB article shortly on our website regarding this issue. For now, you'll need to revert to an older driver that was working. Once a solution is available, it will be updated on the new KB article. "

They were unable to reproduce the issue last saturday so they have only been able to identify the issue properly over the past day and a half, i'd expect them to try and get it fixed asap.
