I buyed a new kit of RAM, a pair of 2X2GB A-Data Vitesta Extreme 1066+

The RAM's sticker says that It can run at 800MHz with 4-4-4-12 timings and at 1066 with 5-5-5-15 timins, both at 2.3v max.

I'm willing to OC it to 1200MHz or 1170MHz at 5-5-5-15 (and auto timmings) at 2.3v, but with no succes.

are anyone of you guys tested a kit like these????

is this kit didn't suited to achieve 1200MHz or am I doing something wrong???

2GB sticks are more difficult to overclock to that kind of speed. 1170 is very possible, but you will need to relax the timings. First try 5-5-5-18, and if that doesn't work, try CAS 6. Honestly, if you want something like 1200, get yourself 4 1GB sticks of Micron D9's. That wil get you there, if your board can handle it.

ddr2-1066 is just factory overclocked ddr2-800, so I doubt you'll be able to hit 1200, unless you're lucky. leave your ram at the 5-5-5-15 timings with 2.2V and you should get maybe 1100.

thanx both of you

@Bluefox1115, you're right, CPU-Z read the RAMs at 800MHz, I thought that was an error....but It seems It didn't.

Wasn't doubting your potential, nor refering to it, since most of you guys and gals here are hard core seasoned OC'ers.. Was just saying that Adata isn't as great as Crucial IMO. :\

Also, just out of curiousity, your Corsair runs at 2.7V? wouldn't it die?
