Now i know my current CPU is bottlenecking my graphics card, (E4400) the new one is coming shortly.. (Q6600) but SURELY i should see better improvements than this?
This is with 1280x1024 res, CSS was maxed out apart from aa 4x and as 4x
COD4 highest settings and automatic on texture effects and stuff, aa 2x and no as.
70-80 fps in CSS
35-60 fps COD4 (with a fair bit of action going on)
I uninstalled the nvidia drivers from control panel, then used a program called driver sweeper to clean the nvidia display and physx, didnt clean the nvidia chipset bit tho, maybe i should of?
I restarted PC, noticed that it was still at 1280x1024, but there was lag when i moved things around, plus there was no graphics card found in display, so i thought it would be done. downloaded and installed latest drivers for the 9800GTX+ then restarted again.
What could it be? Or is it just that my processor is that much of a bottleneck? Lol
Also one other thing, i've noticed that it doesn't get much hotter than it is idle when on COD4 getting low fps, it hasn't gone over 50*C, idles 39*C yet. Just incase that helps lol
