Everything is on High on the effects

im getting 30-40Fps and lagging when I look around or fly on my flying mount,,is that normal , my pc is brand new, though it will run it none lagg

Err, when i used to play, i could run it all on high on a old Ati X850, so i'm guessing somthing is wrong, remember the easy steps, update your drivers (expecialy your video card's) if not ask some players who play (maybe in a town) and i'm sure they'll help you out.

An 8800GT could play WoW on high. I don't know if they did a graphical update though.

WOTLK included a major graphics engine upgrade.

My PC runs it on the highest settings possible (even shadows and full AA/AF), never drops below 40fps...

I don't play but I'm assuming a 4970 would rape it anyway, Maybe a driver update or you might need to lower the settings.

sounds about right, lich king has more advanced graphics than the previous games. Turn off useless things like grass, etc.

yes I know about the Shadow Settings but, Though Computer with my specc could run it smooooooth
i got the lasted drivers update, btw Do I need to turn off something in ATI Control center maybe something bothering WoW?
I should Try WoW-Europe Forums maybe.

because everything else games like LEFT 4 Dead etc works without lagging ,, only WoW is going in my nervs When I am on my flying mount in Grizzly hills and want turn around so much loading and lagging :S:S

The lagging could come from texture that has to be streamed while flying and walking. but yeah, turn the shadows down, cause they are the real killer.

With my system with everything on high EXCEPT shadows (On med) I get around 38-40 in Major cities, over 100 in flight or low pop areas.

wow has a lot of things going on. I have a 9800GX2, and i range from 900FPS all the way down to 50 fps depending on where i am.

There is a known issue with the 4870 and WoW framerates. I experience the same slow downs as you, yet all other games run like a dream, it's incredibly annoying. We just have to sit tight for a ptach from Blizzard or a driver update from AMD, since I have found no work arounds/fixes yet.

yeah, my 8800gts would do 80-300 fps, so it was more steady, kinda wierd. Just keep your eyes on drivers, i guess.

I dont have a problem with wow and my 4870 card? Im staying around 70fps everywhere. The only kind of lagg i get, is cause of latenci, when loads of people are at the same place.

Im from Denmark. Specs under my system specs to the left. And yes, 70fps everywhere. Wow aint that gpu hunger - most of the lagg people get, is because of internet latency. At work, we got a few gaming computers - quad cores and 280gtx, 4gig ram and ssd's. But they lagg quite alot form time to time. Its all about what server you on, how many people thats near you and stuff like that

I Got 124-160ms around in Laughing Skull Server.

Atm, standing in stormwindon Maelstrom real, i get 200ms latency while looking at 30+ people at the bank area. I got 60fps while doing that and that feels laggy. If i move to the flight master thingy, i get 20ms but same framerate, but that dosent lagg at all!

Just saw the graphics for Lich king and I think they look the same either way they can't be that taxing on a 4870. It must be a game issue and will be patched eventually.
