I don't know why people need to keep posting... it's already proven that the later the batch number the better it OCs.

I don't go to other forum to read much, unless I was finding something importance, and we only have few Core i7 users here, I don't think this is a bad idea.

And, you mean the newer Batches?

Well it's fun. I'm just saying the earlier batches around 3835 were absolutely terrible, but each batch has steadily increased yields of OCs that can hit 4.0+

If Fitseries still has his old chip's batch number I'd ask him for them because it was the most horrid chip I've seen posted from here to OCN.

Interesting thread below, but this page in particular has some talk about batch #s to dispel some rumors. It seems any batch from 3836 and beyond is a hit or miss per chip. There are no batches with greater yields than others.

Seems to be YMMV overall, but 3836A and 3841A seems to be most often doing well. My i7 920 3841A does stock voltage and stock cooling comfortably at 3.6Ghz. Some 3841A's don't fare as well, some better. There is no real "absolute best, hands down" batch yet, too much fluctuation per batch.

I don't think that's true, after I updated my bios to F5e, I could POST and boot into Windows at 4.2GHz with ALL settings set to AUTO, I couldn't do this before.

With earlier bios (F3), It would POST and boot to Windows at 3.8GHz, with all auto setting.

I think they tweaked the AUTO setting according to load for better stability.

I thought so, I'm still kind of confused. I don't believe there is a golden batch yet, and that's what that man is talking about.
