Best (and cheapest) 120/140mm fan? (and fan setup)

I will soon be ordering a CM-690 case for my computer build which is already on it's way.

My plan for a fan set up would be:

2 120mm exhaust fans on the top (not included)
1 120mm exhaust fan on the back (included with the case)
2 120mm intake fans on the side (1 included with the case)
1 120mm intake fan on the front (included with the case)

How's this sound?

If it's good, what brand of 120mm fan would you recommend?

Due to the enclosure I will be putting my case in, is it better to have 2 intake fans on the top instead, and put the 2 exhaust fans on the side?

personaly i like the antec 120mm fans with speed control.... not sure exacly what there called, the 1s that come with antec 900/1200.

cant hear them on low speed, and they push a fair amount of air on high. (2 am in the dead of night you can just barely hear them 2 feet away.

Why don't you want 140mm fans? They'll push more air and be quieter than 120mms.

I have:

2 x 140mm fans at top blowing out
1 x 140mm at bottom blowing in
1x 120mm at front blowing in
1x 120mm at side blowing in
1x 120mm at back blowing out.

can also get them at radioshack, they are 10 bucks there normally but its on sale at some for 3 bucks because radioshack is phasing out thermaltake products

I have to agree, if they fit, which by your specs they do, I would also go the route of 140mm fans!

CM690 comes with a dust filter on the bottom intake.
I originally bought Sharkoon 140mm's, but I will be selling them soon.
Picked up some Yate Loons here on TPU and they are great!
I believe aerocool make good 140mm fans if you want something witha bit more bling :pimp:

Since my case will be inside my desk, won't a bottom intake fan be particularly ineffective because of little opening space on the bottom of the case?

There is quite a nice gap under the case actually. There are also slots that allow the bottom fan to pull in air from the front and through the feet.
