It seems like my 4870 512MB is running really hot compared to what everyone else is saying. I have the one with the non reference cooler labeled "Silent Efficiency" yet it's not silent or efficient at all LOL.

That's the card I have and if you read all the customer reviews, everyone is getting great temps. Here's some screen shots of mines on idle and load:

I got great air flow in my case and it's really cold in my room as you can see it idles at mid 40's with fan speed only at 10%. I've also tried with my side panel open but that only helped about 2C.

Using ATI Tray Tools artifact tester, the GPU gets to 77C and 63% fan speed in less than 2 minutes.

I've already tried 3 different power supplies, Corsair HX520, PCP&C Silencer 500W, and a Enermax Modu+ 625W. I've also made sure the cooler was making good contact with the GPU. I cleaned off the stock TIM and used AS5 and that helped about 4C.

Is there something wrong with mines? Should I get it replaced? IMO this seems too hot and at this rate, it won't run at all when summer comes LOL.

I have the Sapphire 1GB custom cooler board also, and mine idled at about 50C and had a load temp of about 77C, which I think is well within safe range.

I *think* some of the stock coolers (the OEM ones) can have idle temps of 70C and load temps of 90C, so by comparison, your temps are really quite good.

XXX is good. JK I didn't know, I'll choose another next time.

So my temps is normal? Why are there so many people reporting really low temps on the Newegg customer reviews? And what would happen in the Summer when my room temp goes up from 15C to 30C+?

That's good to know, I was just worried about the Summer. If I do have any heat problems when Summer arrives I'll just RMA to Sapphire.

You have an X2, your fan speed is at 80% and your memory is clocked at 500. Are you saying my temps are good or bad?
