Help with XBox 360.

Hey guys,

I just got an Xbox 360 today and I have it set to 1080p on my 32" Sharp Aquos. Is there a reason why fable 2 has a bunch of jaggy lines everywhere and overall looks pretty bad? And Halo 3 Split Screen shrinks my picture size down so I have this black border preventing me from a full screen experience? Do I have some settings set wrong?

1st: Is your TV really Full HD?
2nd: I don't really know for xbox 360 games, but High def games are usually just 720, so I'm just guessing your TV tries to upscale the frames, which results in what you see. I could be wrong tho.

For example my 42" Philips Plasma (Full HD) autodetects PS3 games as 720p.

Well on the back of the all the games I've purchased, it says it supports 1080p. And yes, my TV is full HD. I will try to turn it down to 720p and see if it makes a difference.

Yeah I would try that. If that does not work try messing with the setting on your HDTV.

When I purchased the Xbox and took it out of the packaging I noticed a noise coming from inside. It sounded like something was moving around.. Do you guys think this is a problem? It didn't sound like something was just flying around free in there but it sounded like something may be loose. Should I return this one and get another or just keep it if/until it poops out?

what kind of connection are you using the ones that came with it or and hdmi cable? the regular connections dont support full 1080 hd but the hdmi cable does. then if u have the hdmi you need to set up both the 360 and tv to get the best picture.

sounds like you need to adjust ur setting properly both on the tv and xbox

i'd be double checking the actual resolution your screen supports.

I've seen "HD" plasma TV's use 1024x768 as a res, as insane as that sounds - i saw some for sale last month.

Your screen could be 1360x768 like mine, or it could be a 1080i screen, not 1080p.

-What about reference levels on the xbox settings.. It's got standard, intermediate, and expanded. Do these make a difference?

sounds like its not i know ur sure post ur tv spec from the website of your tv when i hooked up mine to by bro in laws tv which is true 1080p it took me about an hour to set it up right this is his

There was a sound coming from inside my Xbox before I turned it on. It sounded like something was loose.
