Hey everyone, im building a custom laptop online. I would like to know the best processor for crysis without having me to overclock. Im not comfortable with that so please tell me a great processor to run crysis as great of fps as possible. I was looking at quad core 3.0 ghz and core 2 duo 3.0- and above.

IM NOT OVERCLOCKING so just tell me whats best for crysis and all games too, Thanks

System Name Pretty Colors
Processor Q9650 @ 4140 mhz
Motherboard Gigabyte ep45-ud3p rev. 1.1 f9 bios
Cooling Thermalright Ultra 120 eXtreme Black Edition
Memory 2x2gb OCZ Reapers pc2-1066
Video Card(s) Sapphire Vapor X 5870 Rev. 2
Storage Seagate 1500GB 7200 rpm
Display(s) LG HDTV monitor 23" 1920x1080
Case Coolermaster HAF 932
Audio Device(s) Steelseries Siberia USB soundcard
Power Supply OCZ ModXStream 700w
Software W7 Ultimate x64
Benchmark Scores I overclocked, that's achievement enough :D beat crysis.
Wow, a crysis playing laptop. Now that's a challenge...

IMO a 3.0ghz quad core laptop is overkill, even for a desktop :D; for the best fps possible a duo core of the same speed is fine (if they have such thing).

What specs do you want to play crysis on this monster laptop; what is the video card on it?

first overclocking a laptop is a dumb idea. they are meant to run stock. Oc the proc you heat up the rest of the system. laptop oc = failure.

With that said a P9600, T9800 or a low end quad

Why do you want to spend so much on a lappy?
You realise that it will never touch the performance of a desktop, for a lot less money.

Moneys no problem, i play torneys for vegas 2 for a living so laptops a must. Also google custom laptops , they can easily get on desktop level in performace. Benchmarks show it, only over clocking is the difference

Might point was that you couldnt touch a PC for half the money once it has been OC'd, but if you can warrant the expense.

Where are you getting it from, maybe we could take a look?

Well based on what Acid888 posted I would get the Q9650.

And what is the point in how great an iphone is in their marketing campaigns if it cant even do flash?

What I said doesn't much matter, as I'd much sooner have a desktop for $2000 that can kick this laptop in the balls! :nutkick: :rockout:

I speced the laptop up to the max price he said, 6K (+$440) and it didn't look so bad.

That was my point, lol.

I would rather build myself a matx lan box than a lappy.

Bang for the buck and performance this might be hard to beat...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220503

Looks like it's not on the egg right now, so might have to do some searching. But I seen another forum where a guy hit 4ghz on the processor and broke a 20k 3d06 score, thats insane for a laptop!

Im not overclocking so what is the specs but i got the highest processor right now , i7 exption

Even not OC'ing that laptop still comes with a 4870x2 and that proc's good. A quad core with todays games isn't going to get you any farther as most games use only 2 cores. And it's going to be hard to find another laptop with that kind of graphics power.
