Suggest me a game!

I need a game to play so bad. I am getting tired of playing shooters all week. I need a good game that will keep me busy for HOURS. I play games about 1 hour a day during the week and as much as I can on weekends. I prefer steam, something under $25.

On steam for under 25 bucks maybe something like World of Goo if you like the odd indy game then youll love this one.

Well what kind of game do you want and what do you like? I can recommend some games, but hard saying if you'll like them or not.

I'd suggest World in Conflict Full pack (w/new expansion) or whatever, I thought I saw it for around 29 bucks on steam...I love that game, I've yet to try the expansion but I hear it's pretty good.

Evochron: Legends, indie game (not thru steam tho) for 24.99 at http://www.starwraith.com/ , if you want a space shooter sim, something different this is quite good once you get past the learning curve...multiplayer is suggested, other people will help you learn, give ya tips and tricks, pretty good experience overall. Try the demo tho (it's limited time int he full game).

Simbin's Race07 + Evolution for 29 on steam, great sim racer, decent gfx, lots of fun if you like technical racing.

If you want an older space combat shooter, grab Freespace 2 from gog.com for 6 bucks and get the Freespace 2 Open (it's opensource), get the updates and custom stories, missions, updated stuff, 100's of hours of gaming for 6 bucks.

Aside from that I'll have to see what else I'm playing in that price range. Hope one of those sparks your interest! I was the same way, sick of shooters, I'm kind of waiting for the L4D DLC before I jump back into them.

What Kursah said World in Conflict a great rts like Endwar and with the Soviet assult expansion pack for under 30 bucks definitly worth considering.

I said the same thing, but I really think you should try out GRID. Not only does it look amazing, but it runs pretty good on most machines. It has all these cool little features in the races and its just so cinematic. You can also play online which is pretty fun, but what is most fun for me is playing with friends at lan. We always get a few good GRID runs in between games on supreme commander and cs:s and l4d and such since you can make the races as short and as long as you want them to be.

Also RPG's, Oblivion eats many hours and if you want some old school gaming if you haven't played chrono trigger or FF7 then I suggest you do. Who knows... if you haven't played any of the zelda games then I suggest you play almost all of them. But most people have played the N64 ones.

Speaking of lans.... The gxl mini lan april 3rd-5th woot!

i bought team fortress 2 off of steam, and since i got that, it gives you them indie game mods for source engine--age of chivalry, DIPRIP, and Zombie Panic!--the only on i really played was Age of Chivalry... its like, medieval times... mostly melee, with archers and spears.... age of chivalry is pretty cool dude, not too many people play it, i only find like 30 servers with people in them..... but still, its pretty cool dude...

EDIT: oh yeah i love the witcher its great game plan to get the remake for consoles, its a remake of the enhanced edition for consoles with a new control scheme and improved even more which is hard to believe

Mass Effect maybe? Its $20 on steam, and has a fair bit of gameplay to it. not like oblivion hours tho.
