I think I'm gonna keep my 4870 and go crossfire with it later. I do want a 4890, but I already have a 4870!

hmm. If anyone buys a 4890, and is unhappy with it for any reason, Ill gladly offer my 9800GX2 as even trade towards it. This goes for the 4850x2.

Why am i going to take such a performance hit while having the 3rd best GPU still?
because, I have to disable SLI to use 2 screens WTF nvidia?

Yeah I'm waiting too. For prices to drop and also for the best overclockers to be discovered and/or marketed.

Bought a 4870 1GB two weeks ago for $189 (no rebate and free shipping) knowing these were coming out and don't regret it at all. :)

Just looked and the card is still $189 too. Sweet.

No, you don't any more. You're using old drivers. I had one of these for a while and since late last year, nvidia's drivers allow two monitors with SLI enabled.

No, if it does, it is still all fucked up.. Im using 182, and I still need to. It wont let me "Attach" the monitor unless it is in non "dual GPU mode" so I have to turn it off when I attach. When I do attach, it doesnt recognize the monitor correctly until I restart the computer, and only then can I set the monitor to 1920x1080

No, qubit, it isnt fixed.

It doesnt help that the damned interface you have to use for the Nvidia control panel is 6 years old, and doesnt supply you with any sort of advanced configuration, and some parts of it seem to just disappear, like custom resolutions or signal type, or if you try and set a custom resolution to do 1920x1080 without restarting, it sets it on your primary monitor, when I had the other monitor selected.
Nvidia software is all sorts of fucked up.

bought the xfx hd4890xt.... wanted the asus version with voltage tweak but made an epic mistake... should be here first thing in the morning...
i have noticed a few reviewers struggling to get decent overclocks(1ghz) on saphire boards...

if my card wont reach 1ghz stable...its going back for the asus version.....

i also have a 4870 going spare....already sold one.... i let it go for £100 aswell.... one lucky owner....

good luck to everyone else...hope you get good silicon....

Perhaps, but I honestly wouldn't think that a decent 4890 couldn't be overclocked 50MHz higher.

Voltage tweaking should be possible on all HD4890s, since they're all the same PCB designs, right now. Asus is just the first company actually providing the software to do so.

Once support catches up with Rivatuner and RBE, it should be just as easy to do...

This is what I want to know as well. I don't really care about the overclocking program because you should be able to create a CCC profile and just edit that. That CCC profile will have all the information you need even though some of it is not accessible from within CCC like gpu and ram voltage information. I was able to edit this with video cards prior to HD4870 so I hope this feature actually returns.
