Is this X58 board a good one to overclock with?

I only like to stick to ASUS and the board looks gorgeous overall

It looks like the 2nd best (R2E being top best). I like the NB cooling on it and mosfets. Overall, will it be a good high end board for the 920?

Used this board for a customer's PC at the shop I work for. A TON of BIOS options....ExpressGate..lots of cool stuff. If you can handle the price go for it. I had fun putting it together.

The only thing I can't decide on is either a GTX 285 or a GTX 295. I hated adding the 295 to my basket on Novatech and the price went from like £600 to over £1000 , I was O.O.

Because I run games at 1920x1200 (24"), would a GTX 285 be fine?

would me more than fine but right now u can try to get gtx 275 as is way cheaper and then sli

originally got a gtx285, had to take it back though so ended up getting a gtx295 instead.
amazing card, doesnt give much notable difference over a 285 though.

Most base Asus boards will overclock marginally well. It's got good to average overclocking potential.

Thats every i7 owners question, and it seems to be more dependent on the chip itself rather than the board.

I'd say sure with water cooling. Wish HWbot.org listed overclocks by board

Most i7's will clock over 4.0ghz with ease and within Intel spec voltage. However, you do need high end air or water cooling. They run hot!

I got the P6T oc board and a 920, got it clocked to 3.5 Ghz with X2 GTX 285s, I haven't tried to go further on the proc, really no need to. It flies through any games I throw at it.
