ive done alot of reading on OC,ing the i920 so far , im getting familar with the bios now, but still have a few probs on stable reboots..
i can OC no worries, but mostly the PC takes a few goes before it can properly boot up, the fans start to spin the die off , this happens a few times then it starts... can anyone shed some light or tell us on some stable voltages in your bios....

and another question, im still using the original bios, Will updating the bios make any difference in rebooting stability or is it purely a "voltage" thing?? , because i red in the manual ,basically it said "if it aint broke dont fix it" mayby not in those exact words, but u get the idea.

thanks any input would be helpful .

.CHECK LINK BELOW FOR SOME SYSTEM SPECS.....
i can get to desktop most times, but its the reboot thats the problem

Mainly just a voltage thing. You're probably not using enough. I usually bang my CPU voltage straight up to 1.4 then try for say 3.6GHz or whatever.

You will get more attention if you post your questions on Core i7 TPU Overclocking thread.
Anyway, this problem is quite common for GIGA X58 boards, try to upgrade your bios, you can check out the beta bios at tweaktown.com forum

Anymore questions? Head to Core i7 TPU Overclocking thread, info should be packed there.

Your CPU voltage is way too high. My Core i7 920 will do 3.4Ghz with 1.18v after vDroop, which is much better than 1.47v to get to 3.8Ghz.

Try stepping back to 3.2Ghz (20 x 160) with stock voltage (i.e. 1.25v) with load line calibration disabled (to allow vDroop). Turn everything else to AUTO except the ram divider (use 8) and ram timings (use 9-9-9-28 2T). Run stability tests and gradually increase your CPU frequency as you confirm stability with lower settings.
