Try the top side of the card so it cools the PCB and ram if there is any one that side of the card.

EDIT: You could all so try a 80mm fan under the v card pushing air out the back though the pci slots of the case if a 80mm will fit as that will take the heat away from he bottom of the case

Then best thing you could do is mount a Fan to the outside and help the internal fan by sucking out some hot air.

I believe what actually cools those Heatsinks is not only the Air itself, but actually the movment and pressure on those cooling-fins.

By blowing air onto your Vid-Card you are not changing this; nor are you really changing the temperature the card sucks in to cool the fins with.

I assume you checked load temps?

Cus it made a 10*C difference in load temps going from a case with no bottom fan, to a case with one.

You got to make sure the fan has air to pull in to push up. If the fan is laying flat on the bottom with no holes in bottom of case, where is it going to get the air to push up? It has to pull it from somewhere to even move the air above it. Now, even if it has holes to pull air in through bottom of case, same principle applies. If the case isn't high enough off the floor, it won't pull as much air as it could if it was higher. Take my HAF 932 for example. I mounted a 1200 rpm CM 120mm fan on the in front of the PSU that I got out of my CM C5 case. Everything lines up perfectly to where the fan for the 4870x2 is almost dead center above it higher up. It did make a difference as I dropped 5% fan speed and 5* C according to Cataylst by moving from the C5 to the HAF. I was messing around one day and discovered that it was hardly blowing any air at all. When I tilted the case on it's side slightly, airflow picked up big time. I put two books under the feet, since CM can't make holes for mounting the casters to line up with the ones on the case, and now I'm down to 50*C on 1st, 45*C on 2nd with no other changes using RivaTuner to auto control fan speed.

Cliff notes: Physics! The fan has to intake air to blow air.

when you put a side fan for the video card, do you make it blow the air out of the case or in to the case to blow on the video card?

You can do either. Though give thought to the fact that both the HAF 932 and 922 blow air in, even though they have big fans. I think the Stacker 830 does too.

Great for moving air from below to the videocard or just circulating air inside the case.

the only time case fans help is if the air in your case is actually hot.

If you can take your side panel off without feeling a waft of hot air blow out, more/faster case fans will not help you one bit.

I have 1 80mm and 1 120mm fan both SUCKING the hot air away, cool air gets sucked in from the side of the case. Idle temps vary from 30~37 degrees C with 22~30 degrees room temp.

100% load temps are 45~50 max with OC.

I've got two bottom fans in my Thermaltake Armor+, but they are exhaust not intake. It takes all the hot air from the video cards and exits it out the bottom, makes a really big difference.

Not really good

with good airflow, you can make the components cooler... and dust is also bad
