When you send an RMA to NewEgg, they don't pay for the shipping of the item back correct?

Has anyone been succesful to get them to pay for shipping the item back? I'm going to call them on the phone tm.. I got bad RAM and a Monitor, and i'm trying to do 1 or 2 day shipping back.. Not trying to pay for the shipping costs though.

If you paid for shipping originally and the items were defective, more than likely you can get that refunded. You will still have to pay out of your pocket to get it back to them though.

yes, i just get on chat and complain.

Like one day i bought a his 3870 for like 169 it dropped to 149 the next week so i got on chat and complaing and complainged till they gave me $20.

i told them they can either pay the shipping, processes an rma, and i'll buy it again or you can just credit me $20

they credited me $20

See I mean I just spent $2000 on computer parts. When something breaks I don't want to spend another $100 to ship it out to them even if its not their fault. So they better cover the damn shipping so I can get this together by the end of next week!

See, i buy a lot of stuff from them. Have a newegg cc and i better get service. there are plenty of online retailers you can buy from but i choose newegg.

See say something like.
Hey i just spend 2k on a computer here at newegg, i've had good luck with you guys but the monitor and the ram is dead. Im hoping you can work with me and pay the shipping back so i can get the replaced.

if they complain then you say

Since i spent 2k, i was hoping for a little help. i've spent plenty of $$ here and if you wont help me then thats fine, i'll return it all and buy from someone else that actually cares about the customers.

You really don't have to "bitch". Just ask nicely. When you get on chat, tell them that you are a loyal customer, and have to set up an RMA. Tell them that you'd appreciate a UPS shipping label for the RMA free of charge. They always are more than happy to do this. I've done it at least 5 times.

my use of "bitching" is asking nice first. that doesn't work then complain. i almost never complaing right of the bat. it doesn't come off well. makes you look like a doosh

And you think I'll be ok just doing this over chat?

I guess I will try over chat and if I don't have luck there I will give them a call..

And yeah.. I always buy off NewEgg and have spent plenty of money on there.. I'd say $15,000 is enough to get free shipping for the first time i've ever had to RMA some stuff.. maybe second time

When they give you the shipping label for free it's UPS ground both ways. And I wouldn't be surprised if every time you asked they gave you everything for free for an RMA, just if you're foolish enough to do it on the website, they charge for everything.

wow... paying for shipping is like paying for gas to get to the store.
I've been talking to customers on the phone and i absolutely hate when some one calls in and starts to say some BS. then you realize that it will not stop until you give them something for free.
that's why I hate to deal with people at work.

RMA on the RAM and Monitor no problem. Sent me UPS Ground Shipping labels. Just ordered new RAM and the same monitor, and should be back in business by Wednesday!
