The European guy here again, seems liks it will never appear in Europe, starting to think about alternatives, some sugestions? Like XFX black, Powercolor, something clocked around the 1 GHz.

You could always go the cheaper Toxic and overclock yourself to 1GHz, I mean its already running at 960/1050 which is fine, and as its the same Card + Cooler I'm sure we can OC just as good as the Atomic and save $$$.

Thats my belief atleast.

On a sidenote - I'm currently in the throws of trying to bring my brain into line and decide going with ethier the new Asus 4870x2 (http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/2748/asus_radeon_eah4870x2_tri_fan_graphics_card/index.html) or aim for 1xToxic 4890 with getting a second later.

some 4890 vapor-x's have popped up on ebay. prices look alright. let's see what the egg and other retailers will price them at.

Why not get the Toxic and save 50 bucks? Its just 40mhz short from the Atomic and I'm sure you could make up the difference in a slight oc. Memory is the same speed on both cards though. Get two for some xfire love and have a killer setup.........hmmmm, make me want one now. :laugh:

Until I see the Overclocking numbers I am holding off on the Toxic. The atomic will do 1060 Mhz core and in many cases 1250 (5000mhz eff.)Mhz Memory. If the Toxic will overclock like this I will purchase it. Erocker has purchased the toxic and is expected to receive it on Thursday. Also, I am not sure if the toxic will allow you to overclock past 1000 mhz core in CCC. We will find out soon I hope.

Maybe the thermal stuff between the heatsink and video cards needed to settle down. I havent had a issue for a while now. They tend to sit at 60C load which is much better than my 4850s at 100C. Did you guys want me to try to bench some more to get an idea on how well they run in crossfire?

Using W1zzard's GPUtool I could probably get 1020 core if i increase the fan over 80%. Even then a error or 2 will creep up once in a while. I never noticed them in the pic, but still artifacting is bad even if only a little.

It's amazing no other company is selling the Atomic. Wonder if Newegg has the initial rights to sell.

Seeing as reference 4890's can clock to 1GHz, I don't see the 'desire' for the Atomic outside of not having to OC yourself, pretty shiny box and the 'limited' edition appeal.

I for one am currently tossing up between the Asus 4870x2 Tri-Fan or a Toxic 4890 to tide me over until the DX11 cards. Hmmmm
