Budget card $60.00 usd after rebate.
they have 2 different versions shown on this page - http://www.evga.com/articles/407.asp
i actually overclocked the reguilar simple 9600gso to all the same specs the superclocked 9600 gso had.. i used EVGA precision.. verry simple.. my gpu temp is @ 46-47 right now with the following specs.
(I also ran bench marks.. Ill post on the bottom)

not clocked ->
------------
gpu temp 50+
fan speed 30
core clock MHZ 555
shader clock, MHZ 1350
mem clock, 800 MHZ

superclocked ->
-----------
GPU temp 46-47
fan speed 100
core clock 640
shader 1600
mem clock 928

bench mark increments by 10 are the following.. ** THE LAST BENCH MARK IM RUNNING NOW AND WILL POST @ THE BOTTOM - not an increment of 10 but about 50. The final bench mark is posted @ the end.

There is ASUS 9600gso on newegg for 35$ for 70 you could go SLI I bet it will be faster than EVGA 9600gso :D.

you didn't post enough information

what are your system specs, what were the gpu clocks for each run, what res did you run 3dmark at, and no pictures:wtf:

The 9600GSO he has is a 96SP version but only 384MB. that should've scored around 12k with a good OC'ed CPU. The 768MB 96SP version outscores 9600GT when OC'ed. SLI those 9600GSO's! :rockout:

those 9600gso's are supposed to be really good for cuda apps because of the high shader count per $$ and are faster than the 9600gt's at some games.

um i ran it @ 1440x900 my monitor size..

you do realize if you monitor supports a max of 1440x900 then the score would be actually be higher than running it at the default res of 1280x1024 right, still nice though I guess

You might be able to push the core and shader speeds some more. I have a pair of ASUS 8800GS in one of my rigs dedicated solely for folding going 24/7 at 705/1782/908 core/shader/mem. The core and mem speeds aren't as critical for folding@home as the shader speed so I haven't really tried to find the top end for them. They do have a VF700Cu and a VF900 (both lapped) cooling them though so your overclocks may vary.

honestly i dont know anything about over clocking.. i jsut watched a video of the same card in sli and i copied what he did by increments of 10.. next minute i know i came across my card but the super clocked version so i clocked it @ the same settings and its been fine... runs crysis l4d on medium all perfect no lag or bad quality or anything.

Set your ram 1:1 400FSB(1600) multi @ 8, cpu vcore around 1.4v, north bridge at about 1.4v. That will give you 3.2Ghz and not overclock your ram.

Try slowly bringing it up .. its a trial and error thing overclocking is.

EDIT:
Video doesnt work and I also helped novacheck, a fellow tpu member, a couple times with that board.

try giving it a little more vcore the 65nm intel chips are rated by intel to 1.35v but are good up to 1.5v with good cooling.

what speed is your ram running at? put a shot of the ram tab of cpuz.

maybe ill OC mine to the same settings.. only thing is.. does it get real hot? because i dont have any extra fans blowing on it.. all though the hard drive fan blows on it from a distance.. my whole case is real cool including the card @ the current OC..
