ok hey guys new to the forum just wanted to ask a few question after long thinking ive come to the conclusion of buying a 9800gt or gts 250 graphic card but since i live in india i dont have alot of choices therefore very limited and newegg or amazon dont ship here anyway my question are as follows if possible please answer me question wise
1. Is it worth getting a GTS 250 over a 9800gt because i will not play above 1440x900 resolution as i have a 19 inch so i dont know because if i have to get a gts 250 i will get it through a friend who is coming here because in india the 9800gt is 7500rs whereas in bestbuy & newegg they are 100$-150$ so why in india is it so expensive compared to america when it is manufactured in china ? will it be cheaper in china or america??
2.i have a HP A6450IN >>http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...2860&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN THOSE WERE the product specifications these are the motherboard info >>http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01357119&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=3707449 ok now i just wanted to know if the gts 250 or the 9800gt will fit in my case as both cards are approximately 9 inches or 23 cm as it says the motherboard is 9.6 inches so does that mean it will fit ??
3. just wanted to know if i have to install the gts 250 which is a dual slot as seen from my motherboard picture will this cause any problem as i dont have anything occupying the pci slot or the express x 1 so is there any problem installing the gts 250
4. i have a pci express x 16 ver 1 will tht bottle neck the gts 250 or the 9800gt in anyway thnxxx

The GTS 250 has some seriosly good performance/price ratio.. someone in this forum said it is the best bang for the bucks at the moment..

1. It wouldn't really matter, but if you wanted to save some money I would suggest getting a 9800GT if that's the only resolution you plan to be playing at.

2. The card(s) should fit on your motherboard, but they might block off a few SATA ports, and a dual slot cooler WILL block off the top PCI x1 slot.

3. PCI-E v1 will hamper their performance a little bit, but I wouldn't worry if you're gaming at 1280x700.

There is only about 20$ difference in price on newegg when comparing quality brand ones

Do 19" monitors go above 1440x900?

You can only play at what the monitor allows. But a GTS250 will be great for that and more.

isn't a GTS250 just a rebraned 9800GTX+ with 512mb or 1024mb memory?

I would of thought so, i don't think i've ever see an 19 monitor that above 1440x900 or 1280x1024.

So 1440x900, but now you can bang on the AA+AF :rockout:

Yeah even intergrate GFX can go that high in Windows but when it comes to grafic intensive tasks like gaming in many games they suck..

More specifically, it’s the GeForce GTX 9800+, a die-shrunk version of the GeForce GTX 9800, which was already a slightly-overclocked re-introduction of the GeForce 8800 GTS.

final decision

so i can finally say that a gts 250 dual slot WILL work in my system without any cramming issues and a little bottleneck due to the express v1 and i WILL get 40 or less fps while playing crysis on 1280x700 right??? and it will run on a 450 corsair psu right?

Is hard to find out how long a GFX is which is for sale on newegg for example.. but my mobo is 24.5cm (9.64") in width and fits a 8800GT which is about 0.5" less in width.. i dont think that the 250 are any longer than my old 8800
