Which X58 motherboard?

I am wanting an matx x58 board for my i7 setup. Which of these 4 boards would be the best one? :

I know the EVGA is brand new and just came out but does anyone have hands on experience with any of these other boards? Help would be much appreciated :respect:

Oh and I do want to overclock alot

too close to call between the Evga and the Asus Gene. I'd go with an Evga again but I did love my Asus P45.

I would say remove the MSI from your list, you will be disappointed with it's overclocking limitations.(all hearsay no experience).

Sorry I've had bad experience with previous boards and video cards. I cant say that's enough to warrant not buying in the future but I've never looked back after my Asus and Evga.

You know, the reviews on MSI boards are always good, then I see a ton of users with nothing but problems with them. Plus, from what I've seen from the MSI bios, the Asus is much better. I'm running a Gene in my second i7 rig, and I will say it again...next to the Gigabyte x58 boards, this Asus board is the best of the many i7 boards I've owned.

From what I've heard, the DFI performs well, but seems to have a fairly high failure rate. This is unfortunate, as I still love the DFI bios. Hands down, the best bios in the business. I'm sure the EVGA board overclocks well, as its "big brothers" do.

Yes I have heard the same things about the AMD DFI JR Boards.. Hmmm I realy love DFI's bios too. Endless options for everything. That does make me weary about the high failure rate though. Nothing an RMA can't fix though :laugh:

Yeah I saw that from Fits thread. It is a great deal but I am leaning more towards the ASUS or the EVGA. The EVGA is 200 shipped at the egg at the moment.

Very true I was just noticing that. ASUS is a very reliable brand too. So is EVGA too, great support but only a 2 year warranty, its not like I am going to have it for more than a year though anyway :laugh:

I upgrade to much. Maybe 6 months

I have had amazing luck with ASRock boards but I have heard that the x58 ones aren't so great. What do you mean by EVGA (only because it's that model) ? Do you not like the other evga boards?

None of these boards are good overclockers. Gigabyte UD4/UD5, DFI X58 UT, Foxconn Bloodrage GTI, and the EVGA classified are my personal picks. The first three are good to OC with, especially the bloodrage GTI, and the classified is just overkill. The price of the Foxconn should have you interested.

I don't own any of those motherboards but I have owned one motherboard or more of each brand. (3 EVGA, 2 MSI, 1 DFI and 2 ASUS, so far.) Although, I find it silly that an mATX motherboard should cost over $150, even a X58 based one, I would recommend EVGA purely for the warranty and customer support or the MSI one for the value. Although that particular EVGA motherboard comes with a 2-year warranty instead of lifetime. MSI X58 @ near $150 = pretty good.

As for ASUS, while I have found ASUS products to be adequate, ultimately I believe that ASUS motherboards are the most overrated in the industry, not to mention they have terrible customer support, if you ever end up needing it. I remember a horror story from few years ago when somebody was instructed by ASUS North America tech support to ship their dead motherboard to the ASUS Tawain HQ for RMA instead of ASUS's North American HQ, at owner's cost mind you. Which was insane since the shipping costs would be higher than what a new motherboard would cost. As for DFI, while their motherboards are considered tweakers/overclockers paradise, DFI ain't what it used to be.

Also, while the feature-sets among those boards are nearly identical some are lacking in some areas. EVGA one for example has no support for PATA devices if you intended to use any and MSI and ASUS ones don't have onboard diagnostic LED if you value those sort of things.

Yes the X58 Classified E760 would be my first choice, I own it and love it! Lifetime Warranty! Great customer service

But the one mentioned here is the more vanilla version. So I think the Asus might be a hair better

i didnt find any Lga1366 mobos with WI-FI. also did a google search and nothing.
