Max Payne or Republic Commando?

I'm gonna get GRID and another 10-15$ game on steam. I've never played any Max Payne games before, and my friend is telling me they they're awesome.
I can get both of them on steam for 15$, but Star Wars Republic Commando is 10$. Which is better in terms of fun or longevity?

Max Payne is good. or should i say "was" good for its time...thing that made it so "awesome" was how it took the action genre and added odd stories and creepy elements to it before most of the games out today.

Honestly if you've played any games that involve a guy who is slightly on the crazy side but still a good guy (condemned for example). You probably would get bored of the games rather quick (hense why max payne 3 is nothing like the first 2 really).

About Star Wars...well thats just it its Star Wars, the formula is always the same so you at least know what your getting, but max payne does have a odd/cool story to it.

Republic Commando is not just a Star Wars..It's a GREAT FPS, I have it and still enjoy it a lot. It's commando based too.

As for Max Payne....can never go wrong with it.

Id go with Commando. Other than being short and the 2nd one never came through.. It was a fantastic FPS.

+1 to Max Payne. It's quite awesome. Republic Commando is really good too (although short) though, but Max comes out on the top.

Very good FPS too! I really loved it and still have it installed

38, 62, 07 and 40 I miss those guys and their funny antics when scorch and sev brag/argue lol. Hope they make a great game like this again.

They both have issues on Vista, but id go with Max Payne, there is an audio fix for it if you look around.

both are good games, i have both xbox and pc versions of republic commando and it looks better on pc because of the resolution and it feels a bit like a console game but its really good i like how you modify the gun instead of carrying different weapons

max payne would be right up your street tho its got a belter of a storyline and you can see where it all began for modern action games, sure its pretty sameish by todays standards and the graphics are dated but its worth a play though even then

yeah i still buy games cause to me sometimes the cracked versions just aren't worth the saving 40 bucks. honestly i had a friend bitch and complain about The Sims 3, and i scolded him for about an hour about how they wouldn't have so much damn stupid protection on games if people didn't think that developers shouldn't get paid for there efforts...this thread is making me want to play the max payne games again, also cause im anticipating Max Payne 3

send me to tech hell, i use cracked/loaded Movies,Music and Games since im 13... the last original game i bought was HL2... most of the games today arent worth looking at them (so why buy?), mostly old rippoffs of real good stuff.

Nothing against you or pirates etc. but, aside from those shitty games that aren't worth buying what about the games that are? i mean i think its fair that the company gets paid for there hard work and efforts, i guess if you put yourself in there shoes you'd understand cause im sure you'd hate to work basically for free..
