Very strange panel problem in front of the case (need help)

Hello. I'd really appreciate any help for my problem

Okay, for a sometime my front panel usb-ports worked fine, but now when i plug-in something into them my pc will automatically restart, or freeze (no signal need to hard reset, sometime even switch from the back of psu) And after it won't boot up for a while (i can see cpu fan spinning slowly, gfx fan not at all.)

I repeat, this only happens in front panel, rear panel works fine. i tried to plug out the front panel wire, but its still happening!

By the way, forgot to mention that my pc will restart even if i touch the ports with my finger!

Can this damage my motherboard in someway?

It could potentially. I had similar issue's when one of my USB ports on the front were damaged. I'd unplug them from the motherboard if you know how.

I did unplug it, i'm sure it was the right one (blue wire says "usb)

Still it's happening, even if it's not plugged :O

I have had similar problems in the past - Unplugged the front ports and problem went away - can only imagine that they simply weren't very well made, and over time the connectors or something slowly worked loose and began touching things they shouldn't.

Eventually put the motherboard in a new case and it's been fine ever since.

Could be a motherboard issue but honestly not sure especially since unplugging it didn't work

If you indeed did unplug the correct cable for the front usb in question and still cuts the PC out when you touch that front usb then something is shorting at it as you already unplugged it from the mobo.So you have a short and a short can cause a lot of things to fail.

exactly. if you unplugged the blue cord from the mobo, and touching the ports still shuts you off , you have a short.

also, maybe it's not just that one cord. there may be one for firewire, or front panel audio - you could be moving or shorting those without knowing it.

So, basicly when i touch them (and they've a short?) somekind of anti-surge protection is shutting down my pc in order to prevent further damage? It was like this, when i got this pc (assembled in the store)

How that can be fixed? and yes, i've place for audio, and fireware also, in the front panel.

I really can't be arsed with this one, might send it off for a warranty >_>

There are many many PC that are brand new and have been put together faulty or shady enough to present issues....people doing repetitive builds in the big PC industry rarely care about quality. Take the PC back and get one that works correctly.
