This looks cool in concept but I would definitely DL the demo before I bought this one.

Darkest of Days PC Demo Arrives: Historical Battles, Futuristic Weapons

A PC demo for 8Monkey Labs' Darkest of Days is now available from FileShack, providing an hour of gameplay from the time-bending, PhysX-enhanced shooter.

The 740MB download includes two major historical battles, Little Bighorn and Antietam, plus an armament of antique and futuristic weapons. "Yes, futuristic BFG's are now available to test-drive against Civil War soldiers," vowed publisher Phantom EFX.

Look for Darkest of Days to hit retail in PC and Xbox 360 form on September 8.

No, and I won't be. It looks as if the user reviews of the demo are mediocre at best.

Just got done playing it. I love the concept, and the gameplay is average. I might get it, but only after I get bored of Call of Pripyat and L4D2.

There used to be an old arcade game that was like this. Maybe someone could help me remember.

It was a top down scroller and you traveled through time on foot. Kinda like a 1943 but as a futuristic soldier. You know like Ikari Warriors? One of the levels you shot wave after wave of trojan soldiers. I cannot remember the name of this game. I keep thinking "Time Soldiers" but I'm not sure and my filter at the job blocks that kinda search.

Dam i played that game to death lol. Was it not a scrolling game. If it is the one the names very close to the one i'm thinking about.

I just played the demo...good concept...gameplay is "meh". The weapons don't feel all that good, and even at high FPS (50 +) it feels like you have a 25ish FPS...at least to me.

Worth a download...or a buy when it's on sale.

I think the FPS oddity feeling is the mouse smoothing. I wish I could turn it off, I hate it.
