Never heard of the "tweezer" method. What command are you using for ATiFlash?

AtiFlash -ai

Does not see the 4850 at all.

I read bits of info about shorting pins on the bios chip with tweezers!!

Need more info than I can get.

Shorting anything out on the card sounds like a horrible idea. With the card you want to flash in the main PCI-E slot, using AtiFlash, at the prompt the command needs to be: a:atiflash -f -p 0 "file.rom"

"file.rom" would be the name of your bios file (no quotations).

Yes, the -f command is to force flash the card. :)

It should do - thinking about it it should simply force the bios onto the device on PCI-E slot #1, weather its reckognised or not. Someone feel free to correct me like :)

Try using an old pci graphics card (You will have to set mobo bios, gpu setting to pci the preset will be PCI-e). Leave the dead hd4850 in the main PCI-e slot. That way ATIflash should still see your dead hd4850. Flash the factory preset bios back in & leave it alone ;)
