360 controller second, i connect my housemates to my PC every now and then, and its layout just makes sense. i can hit every button and control without reaching or cramping my hand, and i never get buttons confused

I vote 360, mainly cause for console FPS games i think its just laid out better, but mainly any 3rd person games and racing games i like ps3, the looseness of the controller is great sometimes sensitive but playing Playstation since 1 i got a feel for the controller since the main design hasn't changed.

i love how there are more random answers than actual answers haha at least this isn't a console war thread again.

but if i had to choose from any and all controllers it'd be a tie between the dreamcast and Gamecube, i was able to play Resident evil 4 without my hands cramping up when it came out for Gamecube. i play it on ps2/3 i have to take a few breaks in between. Dreamcast controller is just win in all ways i mean if they coated the buttons it would've helped and notice that Microsoft adapted highly off the Dreamcast controller

In general yes Keyboard and mouse are WAY better for FPS.

But out of PS3 and 360 the 360 has a better layout for that.

I voted PS3 only because I've never owned a 360, but either way, I enjoy the feel of the playstation controllers.
I have played an xbox and 360, but the controllers are just, bleh. Although I do fancy the triggers (R and L) on the xbox controllers.

I prefer the 360 control, it fit's my hand perfectly and is comfortable. I like that the left analog stick is in the place it is because that's the normal place to put your thumb and most games need it now so I think it's where it should be. When I pick up a controller, and I'd say most people do this, my thumbs natrually go where the left stick and face buttons are on the 360, no need to move my thumb down to where the d-pad is.

ps3 controller, the thumb sticks are too close, but its lighter and has an update rate of 60/sec, vs. 360's 30/sec

I like the PS3 controller better, for the xbox controller is a little to big for my taste.

Keyboard + Mouse for FPS games is the best. For everything else there is the PS3 controller.

I don't like either, but the 360 has better games, better online, better marketplace and a better controller. I've had both, I only have a PS3 now, but it's not really mine.

360 controllers are great shape and layout so I voted them the best.......

but that analog sticks are an abomination and almost an insult to the abilities any gamer than more control over his thumbs than Michael J fox off his meds. I mean seriously what kind of joy flops around about 5% and has no center deadzone FFS

I prefer the PS3 controller, for 2 main reasons. First, I have small hands. lol. And second, because I played the hell out of both PS1 and PS2, and have just become totally accustomed to the design and layout of the PS controller. I do still like the 360 controller. It's very well designed, but I just like the PS3 better.

As a side note, I never actually bought the original Xbox, not because I didn't like it or anything like that, but because the controllers (even the S model) were far too big for my tastes.

Big hands here and don't like it. WHat I don't understand is how anyone is getting cramps with any controller, unless they are trying to hit directional buttons with there right hand The only controller I have ever actually harmed myself with is burning my thumb up on the damned N64 thumbstick, that thing was vicious.

I have fairly large hands, but I prefer the PS3 controllers because I like where the buttons and analogs are placed as well as the D-Pad, I do like the 360 controller but I didnt like the feel of it. I kinda thought of why Sony wanted to bring back the old controller rather than the Boomerang Controller(which I kinda would of enjoyed), I figured they asked themselves why fix what isn't broken?
My all time favorite controller HAS to be the sega saturns

Its the opposite for me. I have rather large hands and was pissed off when they made the controller smaller.

I like the layout of the 360 controller, also because they used the abxy buttons instead of square circle triangle and whatever else.

The 360 is the right size and is comfortable, the ps3 is not.

Nunchuck (optional, but has been there since launch)
Wii motion plus (addon to wiimote, but doesnt interfere with the above two)


Sure different games require different combinations, but unless you're talking those useless addons like the golf club and steering wheel...

Damn right Mussels! I have a xbox controller that is about 85% the size, and I like it very much.

But sadly I feel like it was made for FPS game, and it kinda losses to Keyboard + Mouse.

Which I am, that system has more controllers/controller addons out of any console currently on the market. I will admit I am biased, I hate th e concept of the Wii remote also. I like to relax when I game.
