Benchmark Scores It does boot up? I think.
AF did not work on Crysis for a while with either Nvidia's or ATi's hardware, or both, IIRC..
According to my screenshot gallery from Crysis MP beta and original Crysis, AF did work.

Benchmark Scores They're pretty good, nothing crazy.
Nvidia has the funds and resources to be able to surprise anyone. I would never count out the big dog, they do have other ways of competing with AMD's newer cards ya know, besides the obvious launch of GT300. Like someone said before, newer drivers could improve performance on current 260/275/285/295/etc...we will have to wait and see when 5k comes out.

newer drivers would be awesome... the newest ones have had issues.

I'd think it's wishful thinking nvidia would have improvements. Damn, I hope there would be total catastrophy and all these drivers would be handed as open source. ;P

Newer drivers will help, but it isn't going to put any nail in the 5k gen unless their is a price drop, and even then, there will be no competitor for the 5870. You can say the 295 maybe could with new drivers, but SLI or CF scaling isn't always a guaranteed thing like 1 GPU provides. But I am curious to see the price drops as most 285's hover around $50 of the 5870 1gb range.

Do anyone has a clue guess on how does HD5670 will be ?
Also lunch date and price ?

I'm hoping something close to HD4860... for $150.00 on january/2010
that would be 5770 should be out around october 2009

According to my screenshot gallery from Crysis MP beta and original Crysis, AF did work.

Hmm, I just googled on this and jogged my memory about this AF issue. It had something to do with POM textures. When Crysis was first released, there were several tech sites pointing out how AF did not seem to work on the ground textures (especially roads). Here's a quick search: http://www.google.com/search?client=opera&rls=en&q=crysis+AF+not+working&sourceid=opera&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8 Since I am not playing for Crysis for the time being, I do not really care too much for it right now, but I might play once again with a 5870 card, at maxed-out settings! THAT, I am looking forward to!!! :rockout:

Reality. Check.
XFX offers you the ultimate reality check with the new XFX Radeon™ HD 5870 and 5850 graphics processing units. Bringing three new dimensions to gaming reality, these graphics cards challenge the limits that have restrained your gaming. Until now.
First, ATI Eyefinity Technology literally broadens your horizons by enabling you to spread out across three displays at resolutions of up to 1080p. Use this “wrap-around” in-picture experience to become fully immersed in your gaming—or productively immerse in your work.
Second, ATI Stream Technology gives your system a significant boost by offloading tasks usually sent to your CPU to your GPU. The result is a more balanced gaming platform that can handle the demands of today’s fully immersive games.
Third, both the XFX Radeon HD 5870 and 5850 offer full Microsoft® DirectX®11 support so that you can push your settings to the max and still game at the highest resolutions. And, sure-to-make-you-blink 3D effects are generated through HDR Texture Compression, DirectCompute and Tessellation.
As John Lennon once said, “Reality leaves a lot to the imagination.” At XFX, we couldn’t agree more. Especially when you’re talking about the XFX Radeon HD 5870 and 5850 graphics cards.
Game on.

All rumors point for nvidea to be in serious troubles to get those chips up and running...
Seems they got 10 waffles from tsmc from which 7 engineering samples of the gt300 were working, first samples it seems, all points for and if possible new nv hardware by next year, some doubt nv can pull this out...
Thats just stuff i read somewhere, so we will only know when we actually hear from nv...

I was talking about the 200 gtx series

Last time?

yes last time when the 4000 series was released new drivers came out increasing the potential of the 9800 series by a bunch

I disagree. I happened to still be rocking the 8800's at that time, and there was no significant performance jump around the launch of 4800. They steadily improved here and there, but definitely no big jumps.

Anyone notice no power adapter on the side as though, looks like thats what the spots on the end of the card are for. Also is that XFX card the Eyefinity only, because if its not, wondering how exactly they will bundle Dirt 2 with the base 5850/5870 when that game doesnt release for PC till December.

yes last time when the 4000 series was released new drivers came out increasing the potential of the 9800 series by a bunch

Even if that was true, it didn't matter, the 9800's with drivers made by god wouldn't have beaten a 4870. And thats what I'm saying here, even if they have hidden power, they still won't compete.

XFX is the one and only that I am aware of that packs a Parts and Labor Manufacturer Warranty for a Lifetime that is transferable to boot! Now when I am looking to drop 5 bills on a card at least I know if it turns to rubbish in 6 months I don't have a paperweight. I hope they continue this on the 5000 series cards. But yeah looks are a good thing as well and XFX is generally much better than most but a little ugly that performs great and has insurance is a much better deal to me.

XFX packing is awesome too. That matters as you often see too little packing material used by the Egg and others. DIRT 2 FTW!
