Ha ha just because you guys can't 1337 a Dell doesn't mean it's bad. I've worked with Dells before, they're designed alot like Macs. They're designed to work from the moment you press the power button to the day you drop it in the recycle bin. Of course, if you try opening them/ reinstalling Windows/ configuring anything, then you're pretty much going to wish you had built custom :).

Ive never had a dell computer, but the laptop i got is great! nothing wrong with it at all, and had no probs at all re-installing windows on it...not to sure about opening it :p...but the ram is easy to change :p

EDIT: i have actually worked with a computer before...i formatted it and installed XP with no troubles. I also opened it up, and it wasnt that hard to configure :wtf:

newegg before all else
intel and amd - various reasons
ati - long lasting cards and good price/performance
corsair - nice cheeap ram
thermalright - 2.6ghz 1.50 vcore and still idles at 24c
thermaltake - 420w psu powers a x1800xt with no issue
sony - good disc drives and other things (camcorders, cameras ect)
logitech - mx518, g15, x-530
linksys - wrt54g FTW!
dell - pretty shiny monitors
dfi - king of the oc
western digital - longest lasting hard drives period.
motorola - good nextel cell phones and cable modems

bad:
maxtor, seagate - nothing but problems
soyo - shit mobos
via - suck it
dell - monstrosities of the pc world
sony - vaio's are overly expensive and false advertised
tigerdirect.com - service and prices suck
nvidia - purchased 3 video cards and had all 3 die within a year

hmmm the list is large but i'll list the majors

AMD for the best cpu's to date
ATI for giving me a reason to game
DFI for giving me the power to overclock to the max
Corsair for cheap memory that goes 2x faster than it's rated speed
OCZ for their bulletproof, and tunable psus

WORST!!
INTEL You suck plain and simple
Foxconn i've never had a bored work, yet people still buy your crap
EVGA please stop making video cards, or at least sell em at a discount cause they're poorly made
Coolermaster i bought your all in one wc kit, set it up, it worked great for 2 months, then the water block broke and sprayed coolant all over my case fying everything, and at that your auto shutoff never shut off the computer when the coolant started leaking, leaving me with a dead computer and even worse a dead cat cause she drank all the coolant while i was at work. FUCK YOU COOLERMASTER
and last but not least Cox communications-i'd have better connections if i printed out the source code and walked it to it's destination waited for a reply and walked back. thats all

 Thanks for giving me a reason not to go with water cooling...I'm actually having good luck with EVGA. EVGA is supposedly the Nvidia reference board. It's either that or PNY, they're both what you'd find in best buy for 5 times the price they're worth :p. How are the OCZ supplies tunable? Last time I checked PSU's were things with an on/off switch and maybe a fan control :).

evga and most makers use the refrance pcb layout, evga is no worse then any other maker, i have had stinker video cards from pny more then any other company over the years, and there warr policy SUX u MUST have your ORIGNAL recept and send it to them to get an rma even on lifetime warr stuff, its a trick to keep them from having to honour there obligations pure and simple......

oh and i had to send a 6600gt back 5times due to the cooler fan being bad, they would send me a new one for my buddys system(rma for him because hes a noob!) and it would come back with a fan that made offle noises and studdered when it spun, finnly they tryed to say there was nothing wrong with it, so i used it, it burned out, he got pissed and call them and spend 4hrs being transfered from person to person, they finnly offered to refund the $ he orignaly spent on the unit, he since got a power color x1600pro agp with life time warr, hasnt had a problem since.

ASUS all the way for motherboards, it's just a shame it takes so long for a decent bios to be released. I have had some very good overclocking experices with my Asus P5WD2 Premium, never did find the fsb wall though. 370mhz fsb's the highest i've ever had mine. And i'm hopeing for some good fun with my lovely new shiney P5W DH Deluxe when i finally give it the Core 2 duo it's craving!

BTW, for all Asus P5W DH Deluxe owners out there, Bios 1402 will be released tomorow :D Extremly good things were said by the pre-release testers.

EDIT:

whats wrong with dell :wtf:?

lmao

there laptops have one glaring problem or a tech, getting proper drivers for the units due to dell using 8 diffrent cards for say wireless/bluetooth on one model of laptop.

dell desktops are the worst, they are why people hate dell, my buddy just called me as i was posting this, his office got 200 new pent4/pentD systems begining of the month, 182 of them died in the last 3 days, dell says that a tell tech rep will be out sometime next week to take a look and deside if they can be repaired on site or if dell is just going to replace the units.........he warrned his boss that microns deal for 5-7k more total price was a great offer....(micron dont suck.....well they are pen4/d so the chips suck but the build quility is good)
hes having me go in tomm or sunday and help him move all the old systems out of the basement back to there stations since they cant be down for a week or 2 waiting for dell to replace systems, the psu's on these little black toasters are what went out, some smoked some blew sparks, some did both.....scarry, firehazord or what?

just trust us, dell desktops suck baddly, would have been better off with emachiens, at least they dont tend to explode in a shower of sparcks :p
