I just got through installing Windows 7 on my Eee PC 1000H, but ran unto a minor problem. When I boot, I get the ugly Vista bootscreen instead of the nice Windows 7 bootscreen. I tried the BCD locale fix that is out there, but it didn't fix it.

Could it be that the resolution on the Eee PC is too low for the bootscreen? Does anyone know if the bootscreen requires a certain resolution?

Clean install, deleted the Vista partition completely and recreated it, then formatted the drive fresh before installing Win7.

I'm leaning towards this being the reason, the Eee PC's screen is only 1024x600, so if the bootscreen wants 1280x1024, it can't do it.

It isn't really too big of an issue, I hardly see the boot screen, I just hate the Vista bootscreen so much. Oh well, it is a small price to pay for a better running computer(and it runs so much better with Win7 over Vista and XP).

Perhaps maybe that is the minimum resolution support? And the 1024x600 drops it too low?

Edit: Did a little more research. It seems it is actually a problem with the BIOS, upgrading to a newer BIOS will fix the issue, but then cause more/worse issues. Appearently the latest BIOS that give the correct bootscreen, cause Win7 to switch to the VGA output after every boot...meaning a black screen after ever boot... I think I'll live with the older bootscreen.
