I used to run the FSB at 230mhz 24/7. Maybe unlocking the core was just the feather that broke the camels back. Now I just hope it didnt fry my CPUs. The 720 or the 955. I have to return the 955 after all.

230 is a mild OC to begin with, I ran my old asus socket 939 @260 for the longest time and it still works flawlessly.

I don't think so, you should be fine with the 955 however I cant say for the 720 but it is unlikely.

Ram should be fine. Only way it could have died is if the mobo corrupted the RAM when it went. I would test it in another machine.

He could've had a power surge. If the NB fried, it could've taken the ram with it. If the cpu fried, it could've take the ram with it. Etc, etc. I have found the ram to be the most brittle piece of equipment in a computer.

Speaking of power, did we happen to try a different psu?

That is true. However I think it is unlikely in this scenario.

Also agree with trying different PSU.

I popped the battery out. No luck. If its the PSU Ill hang myself. All signs point to mobo. As for the surge I doubt it. I have it behind some pretty good regulators.

I know this sounds weird, but try unplugging and replugging all the connections.

Nothing. Already did that. Wile E do you think I could have fried the new CPU? Or is it unlikely?

CPUs frying is a very rare occurrence, with the exception of when you push excessive temps or voltage.

Only a 4 pin CPU connector, but I remember cdawall getting some excellent clocks out of his board. Asus is a good choice for AMD.
