You can add your ebay feedback if you wish. Nobody will stop you. The thing about it though is that anyone can select a random seller that has positive feedback and post that sellers feedback too boost their credibility, so it should be taken with a grain of salt. I'm not going to amend the rules to make it an either/or thing or even suggest using it because outside of ebay it's a much weaker system. Please use heatware if at all possible since it links your forum user name to the account, ebay feedback outside of ebay just isn't as good.

heatware is just lame but I understand.

If a member who wants to buy also has an ebay account, they can request a message be sent to them via the Ebay account to keep this from happening.

We should make an example FS thread and sticky it.

Just posted mine, I hope I did everything right :0

http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=94773

I don't like the heatware being obligatory though, since I don't use it either. Maybe make a rule where you post your HEAT, or in the absence of such, ebay feedback and other forum's feedback?

edit: Well seeing as it's a CPU I though a notepad open with my name would be enough in a screenshot....I really don't feel like disassembling my rig and waste TIM just to take a pic. Also in the future, I suggest sending a PM so people can copy the thread's code before deleting it. I'll post elsewhere.

i have a question: are sellers allowed to make buyers pay the paypal fee, or does that get covered on the seller's behalf?

It is up to an agreement between the seller and the buyer. You can say in your thread that there will be a fee is someone wants to pay with a credit card via PayPal, or just say you take non-cc PayPal only. Really though, all of these kind of details should be worked out between the buyer and seller before there is a transaction.

According to PayPal's terms of service, you are not allowed to charge a buyer for their fees.

I usually cover the Paypal fee as a buyer anyways. I simply view it as an extra incentive for the seller to do business with me, and it increases the chance that they will do business with me in the future as well as leave me good rep. I would NOT send money as a gift though. If you have a dispute with money sent and put a claim to Paypal saying the items weren't received or not as described they can say "Items? What items? This was a gift payment, DENIED." I'm pretty sure it perfectly sidesteps what little recourse you have getting your money back with Paypal and actually this has been a method scammers have used (convincing you to send as a gift payment).

I may be wrong, but as far as I can remember this is something you really shouldn't do.

It is all up to you. If it were, say Erocker, he is trustworthy, and you probably won't have a dispute. Now, if you were doing business with Fiendo, you might want to do "goods":toast: (jk_

I believe this is correct.

Now, if you did the math for selling an item... say for $150, and do the math for the charges, and add them into the price and sell the card now for $153.67, I do believe that is -OK-.

Paypal is retarded :banghead:

I would like to remind some members here this part of the guidelines:

When posting in FS/FT, you must follow these guidelines-

Only post in a FS/FT thread if you are...
1) Bumping the thread. (Once every 24 hours for sellers)
2) Interested in the item and asking a question.
3) Negotiating the price of an item you want to buy. (But this should be done through private messages.)

Too much garbage has been posted in members threads lately and it needs to stop.

Thank you.

I would like to question the current rules in regards to pictures of items with handwritten name.

Many times I would like to sell a lot of items and find a nice alternative to snapping group pictures a YOUTUBE video. Personally I dont want to promote my own YT channel or videos, but this would be a great way to show my items and even show the item in a 'working' condition.

Is it possible to use this as an alternative to the standard picture requirement? Please understand that I like the way things are, but find it useful to use youtube videos as an alternative. :)

Bah, just do it and take a chance. Anticipation of an infraction for not possibly following the rules is fun! Personally, I would still like to see normal pictures with members names in them. Add the video as a sales tool. If you have time to make a movie, you have time to take a couple still photos.

I think the video option will help add creditability to ensure a working item will be received.

I'll throw one in on my next FS thread, and see if the return on investment is there. :)
