Latest CPU Cooler from Noctua (NH-D14 Blocks 1 RAM Slot on P55)

Leatest CPU Heatsink from Noctua NH-D14 (Blocks 1 RAM Slot on P55), And makes it unusable for Memory with high heatsinks.

But does a very good job at cooling

i wonder if you could raise it up a bit with a small copper block between it and the cpu, you'd probably need longer screws for mounting it if you do that. that should give clearance for the ram

gotta be very careful and wise on how you do that, don't want to mess up the contact between the CPU and the cooler.

yea i know... the copper would have to be really smooth and have good thermal paste on both sides. you would also have to make sure it stays in place while you put the heat sink on.

probably need also like a custom mounting kit for the plate that will also go through to the plate on the cooler itself. To hold both in place .

I actually recall there being a review about someone who went from a U12P to a Mega and his temps dropped an excess of 10 degrees so if you do a rough estimate it should be clear. :roll:

He's talking about a diff review. CP, run your 920 at stock and look at your idle temp.

But... he has comparisons for both the U12P and UD4... >_>

Example:

Mega - 70C
U12P - 80C

The UD4 cools around 4-6C better than the UD12P putting it right in between.

I can't guarantee that I'm right, I'm just taking guesses based on what I've read.
