Shame it will probably be worse than the guns you start with! Oh well... it might be good.

i got myself the best buy gun and im in the veterans program, so im all set :)

i preordered mine at best buys site and it says they will ship on the 18th and i will probly get it a week later

ive played the demo and it seems pretty solid. the level is kind of drab but player models are very good and im sure other levels will be more appealing visually

flying is a lot easier for n00bs (so maybe they can stop hogging planes and crashing). and so far the game seems much more solid. the server list dosent lag and the spawn screen is free of bugs. So far the red/blue name issue hasnt occured to my knowledge and the game hasnt crashed yet

The demo is pure crap, buggy as hell. If it doesnt crash from some random bug, you will get disconnected from the EA master server. I am really surprised (although I shouldnt be) that EA managed to make it (much) more unstable than the latest patched build of BF2.

Been running the demo fine, not one problem at all, runs smooth and no crashes. I love it, pre-ordered it from play.com lol

Well in reality it is just a very expensive BF2 mod I guess, so it should be at least as bad.

Well, after playing the demo a bit more I don't really like the map in the demo. I hope that they have some better ones, it just seems a tad dull. I will probably end up buying it anyway though... not sure yet, Titan Mode has potential. As for crashes, it randomly crashed totally when I joined a server today, but BF2 has done that before so I'm not suprised.

After playing Titan mode until 4 am :p, I've decided to get the game, I get a rush when you put the shields of the enemy Titan down and go with your boarding party flying or driving to blow it!

Dunno how, but there was a moment after all those hours playing that all members of my squad became quite good in boarding and charging through the Titan's corridors taking the defenses down, and then blowing up the consoles and the reactor, the sole objective of accomplising this mission made us work in lot more consolidated way as a squad than what I had previously experienced in BF2.

Besides, I'm starting to love how the soldier kits seem to be more varied, although actually there are less classes, now most of them have more useful weapons like rocket launchers and machine guns that actually work and you can aim very effectively, though most of the weapons lack some of the oomph factor found in BF2. I just can't wait to get the full version to unlock the C4 and also the nades for clearing up those thight corridors on the Titans!

Using the mechs is quite cool as well, being able to dance in circles around your enemies while pounding them with the machine guns and rockets, feels kinda like the helicopters in BF2, but with a lot more firepower and armor :D The only thing I disliked about all the vehicles is how fast the guns heat up, and the loading time for most of the weapons, but I guess the designers had to balance gameplay a little bit. Also the fact that you can't point your reticle too high makes you easy prey for the gunships, but there's nothing more satisfying than taking down an incoming gunship whose pilot was careless to fly low enough for you to get your reticle on him, and then taking them down with a single round from your tank cannon or a full barrage of rockets and lead (or is it tungsten/depleted uranium, dunno what kind of ammo vehicles will use in 2142 :p) from your mech!

Altough the sprint function feel much slower and shorter than it was in BF2, I've read that getting rid of extra armor, and unlocking sprint boosts for your soldier in the full version will make the sprint longer and faster.

So far, I haven't had a single crash, the EA master server disconnected me once from the server in the middle of a round, but I could log on to the same server a couple of minutes later. The game runs quite well at 1280x1024 (this res enabled via the loader as shown at tweakguides) but the framerate can take a hit during a very intense firefight against other mechs, otherwise FPS feel very stable most of the time. There are some bugs like the tanks still running even after you stop pressing the accelerator, and once my mech had this weird strong shaking that didn't stop until I got out of it and re-entered it.

I still stand behind my previous thought that this feels more like a total conversion for BF2 than like a new game, but the possibility of unlocking many more functions (though sadly some of them taken for granted in BF2), the cool factor of driving new vehicles, and the rush I get while playing Titan convinced me of getting a copy of the full version.

I read you, the missile silos are in areas that are too open and also they are distributed so close together that trying to defend them is almost like suicide, hope the other maps feature more defensive positions and different settings, altough from the pictures you see sometimes during the load menus you can tell that there will be open maps and more closed urban setting maps.

Agreed completely something with the bf2 engine and 850 series cards don't get along regardless of my settings i get 30-40 fps regardless weather the game is maxed out completely, on all low setting and everything in between i have no prob other games even fear just the bf2 engine

This PCI-E or AGP? On my AGP X800GTO I get an average of around 30FPS maxed out on 32 man maps (or more), but now I have it on medium high I get at least 70 really. (on BF2 this is)

I get 40-60 FPS on my FX 5200. I still dont believe it runs.. i installed the Demo knowing that i had no chance of getting anything but a slideshow, but to my surprise, it actually runs well. On the lowest settings but still.. i cant run Hitman 4 at above 10FPS.
Makes sence that this is just a BF2 mod, cause NO 2006 game should work on my PC, NO game. What kind of right do these ppl have of making a game that I can play? They have no righ!! Its my fault for not upgrading my graphics card.

BTW, the Demo is really fun, im playing it for hours. The Titan mode is excellent, but the other one sucks. Something abt the team work and everything.. ppl from all over helping eachother out for a similar goal. Not to mention the game is fun just because it is - the vehicles drive woderfully, and ive never had more fun flying a helicopter in a game before. I do get killed an awful lot, but ive never played a Battlefield game before and i just assume that most ppl playing are verterans.

BF2 fans would beg to differ I'm sure. Titan is actually the same just you get to jump on a big ship in the second part if you want (sort of taken from Battlefront II I think)... I guess it's all a matter of opinion.

Look at the score... so close!

we were losing, and all that was need for the other team is one more shot at the reactor. my team was holding the defenses very well while i and 5 other peeps pod our way in destroying all the console and the recector before they can deliver the final shot. Lucky me to deliever the last hit to the reactor, but died while excaping.

we were losing, and all that was need for the other team is one more shot at the reactor. my team was holding the defenses very well while i and 5 other peeps pod our way in destroying all the console and the recector before they can deliver the final shot. Lucky me to deliever the last hit to the reactor, but died while excaping.

I don't really get that whole escape thing... it's the end of the round so what does it matter if you die? Unless you're really bothered about your kills:deaths ratio. IMO I think that to win a team must control all of the missile silo things and destroy the enemy titan, that way the game would have more of an edge at the end.

Look at the score... so close!

Nice!

Something similar happened to me but we were the ones who lost.

We were pounding the enemy's reactor and then all of the sudden we heard that our Titan's hull had been destroyed. Funny thing is we kept shooting to the enemy's reactor and it blew just some seconds after ours did.

Both Titans exploded but we lost the round :( :p Too bad I didn't take a screenie, how do you take SSs? with the print screen key?

It's just for the fun of rushing out of the exploding Titan, sometimes you don't even have time to open your parachute and you can watch yourself falling from the deck as it explodes, hilarious!
