How to avoid dust

Hi,

I have a micro atx case .and it has 2 80mm fans and one 120mm fan on front and one on rear.
is there any way to avoid dust intake?
And I am planning to buy a new bigger case...is there any case with dust filters and more space...

please advice

Lots of cases come with dust filters, you can buy them separately also.

Personally I recommend not filters and just cleaning your case once a month or so.

The TT Armor case is fully filtered on the front. There will always be some dust that gets in but no were near as much without.

Better than having to clean it out every month .

The thing about filters is that they do restrict air flow. Just get a can of compressed air, and blow the case out once a month, and once every 3 months or so clean the fan blades with a bit of rubbing alcohol. That's all it really takes.

vacuum cleaner with a hose attachment (preferably a very small attachment on the end.) Do not use a portable unit.

Of course, others may disagree as it can be a hazard to poorly constructed hardware.

It works very well to make a piece of hardware look like it just came out of the box. That's what I did to an old Socket A system.

I use swiffer dust pads over the air intakes. I get plenty of air and once a month when I clean I change the pads, works great and its cheap

As others have said...Canned air is your friend.
Just blow it out about one time a month.
Filters restrict to much airflow in my opinion.

Isopropyl alcohol or even washing it. One warning tho, you do any of that there is a chance you may have to reapply thermal compound to the GPU and the ram.

a good quality regular paint brush for your walls is soft and does great, the cheapo brushes have stiffer bristles that break off and dont clean as well

i keep a 2" brush and a 1" brush for my keyboard

get the "cut in" brushes, the angle cut ones because they get into tight areas better

hey... never thought of that. I bought a 15ish pack of nice brushes on a recent trip to the art store ( may recent). I'll give them a shot. They come in handle bsel modding, too. lol

As I've found in the past . . .

even with filters in place, it doesn't stop ALL the dust from accumulating . . . you'll still have some amounts of dust collect inside your system.

If you could stop all the dust, then your fans wouldn't be able to provide any real airflow into or out of the case.


Follow some of the above recommendations - nylon hose, swiffer pads, even old dryver sheets . . . they'll provide adequate filtration of incoming air, and will make routine cleaning a ton easier. Still plan on cleaning your case on a regular basis - every month or two, depending on living conditions.

yup it dosen't matter if you have filters, sooner or later it will get through the tiny holes and joints in the case and it will be dusty again, but as imp said, it won't be nearly as bad.
